I'm a married, 35-year-old mother of a sweet one-yr old boy (and one feisty Jack Russell Terrier), and a freelance business writer who works from home just north of Toronto. Besides crafting, I love reading, the outdoors (including camping & cottaging, canoeing, hiking, and cross-country skiing. And I'm a huge fan of interior design - though I can't afford all the $$$ needed to renovate - so I'll have to be happy with shelter mags and watching as much HGTV as I can!!

I like:

-Clean, tailored lines and good design

-the contrast of materials like slate, antique barnboard and stainless steel.

-daisies, Japanese grasses

-natural fibres & organic shapes

-Cezanne, Degas, Matisse, Van Gogh, Mucha

-sewing and crafting supplies

-a good cup of tea

Colours: neutrals and rich or muted jewel tones, not too big on metallics. Favorite colour is red, (but more towards burnt- or brick red rather than cranberry.)

Dislikes:

-ruffles & lace & potpourri

-tchotckes and "dust collectors"

-"fussy" florals

-"theme" fabrics like kitty cats or teddy bears

-pastels

-80's style

It depends on my mood; mostly alternative rock, but tastes run from classical to folk to Top 40. Not very helpful, I know.

I love romantic comedies, Audrey Hepburn flicks like Roman Holiday, period films, quirky movies, documentaries and lots of foreign stuff with subtitles. Not a big fan of most Hollywood "blow 'em up, real big" flicks, or horror films.

The Office, Ugly Betty, Ed, Ellen, The Apprentice, almost anything HGTV, Top Chef/Hell's Kitchen

Quilting, 1:12 inch scale dollhouse miniatures, crochet, embroidery, tatting. But mostly quilting -- I love fabric! I'll give most things a try.
