Today is my 7 year anniversary with Swap-bot!

I found out about Swap-bot through a customer who came into my place of work looking for interesting papers to collage with to make ATC's. I had never heard of an ATC before, and she explained to me that she traded them with others on this online group.

I have met so many wonderful artists here on Swap-bot and have made some great friends!

To celebrate, I am hosting this swap contest for ONE DAY ONLY!

To enter this swap contest, First sign up and then leave a brief message below telling us why you joined Swap-bot. Once partners are assigned, look for your partners comment below, and if there is one, rate them a 5 and leave them a nice little note in the ratings section.

You must be an active member of swap-bot, with a rating of 4.98 or higher. If you are a newbie, you must have a well filled out profile. I reserve the right to remove anyone who does not qualify from this swap.

Whoever I get partnered with wins the contest and will win a 5x7 envelope that contained 7 pieces of fun ephemera!

I will assign partners tomorrow evening.

Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful and for sharing your creativity with all of us!

I did not find out about Swap-bot until September 30, 2017. I have been a member of Postcrossing for 12 1/2 years. I was reading profiles of people I was paired up with for a round robin and the person mentioned that they were active on Swap-bot and mentioned their User name. I was intrigued. So I searched for it. As soon as I was on the site, I was hooked and signed up right away! I have enjoyed my time here and I enjoy hosting, too. I look forward to many more years here. I am just saddened I did not know about it years ago!

On Instagram I followed several of the penpal tags. I hadn't been brave enough to join in and actually find a penpal. Mental health can be rough. So I had been following them for a while maybe over a year? I kept seeing the tag swapbot which seemed like a familiar name. So I searched it and realized I had stumbled across swapbot awhile back when I found post crossing. It had seemed to be a little intimidating so I never joined.

For the past year I've been working on fighting my mental health and getting out of my shell. So I finally took the plunge and joined Swapbot. Y'all are so amazing and friendly. I wish I had joined sooner. It's definitely been something to help me through my days and not worry as much. I have anxiety about sending things but seeing the 5s gives me a bit of a confidence boost.

Congratulations on 7 years!! May you have 7 more on top of that. ❤

I had started my graduate program in the summer of 2017 and needed to incorporate self-care into my schedule since I was working full time, going to school full time and working a full time internship at the same time. Yikes! Anyway, I noticed these neat swaps going on through some other web sites and since I'm a very creative person it naturally peaked my interests. I found out about Swap-bot from some of their profiles and the rest is history. I absolutely love the variety of swaps! It's a wonderful way for me to connect to other people and express my inner artist. But it's also a way to let go of the marks that stress and anxiety tend to leave behind.

One of my paperbackswap.com friends kept telling me about swapbot. as a place to swap atcs. A new format on a new website can be confusing. I would go look and then, not do much. Finally I jumped in and started swapping. I think I am a tad bit obsessed now. I swap atcs, postcards, books, tea, and journals mainly.

This is a great swap idea for your anniversary.

I joined swapbot because I love mail and the joy of receiving and sending. I have made many friends from here. It's fun to sign up for the different swaps and to host your ow. I have boxes and boxes of postcards and love each one and the stories behind them.

Whoo seven years!!!

Less than a year ago I was poking around trying to find something similar to pocket letters, a site that wasn't based on facebook that would let me send and receive happy mail. I was very fortunate in my searching to stumble upon swap-bot! I feel very lucky that I've been able to swap with amazing people from all over and can't imagine giving up swapping now that I've had the chance to explore so many art mediums!

Wow congratulations on 7 years!

I joined swap bot because I have recently started enjoying snail mailing. I love my penpals but I wanted to send out more mail! I found this website from a YouTuber I follow. She also talked about ATCs. I thought this website sounded like fun and I was completely right! I have had a few amazing swaps and can’t wait for more!

I actually very recently joined Swap-Bot (it’s been just over a week)! It began when a “Pen Pal With Me” video showed up in my YouTube recommended. After that, I became curious, and looked up different websites to find a penpal, and Swap-Bot was one of the most recommended! Now I’m hooked!

I found out about swap bot via Google. I have been an active participant in Reddit's monthly themed secret santa's and loved the postcard ones so much that I decided to start looking for pen pals. As soon as I made my account I realized that this site is so amazing and filled with so many people that love to craft as much as I do, that I became addicted and have been signing up for as many different and fun swaps ever since!!

I joined Swap-Bot two years ago next month. I’ve been a member of Postcrossing for five years and one of the ladies I met on there introduced me to Swap-Bot. I have had so much fun here and have met some wonderful people.

Since I discovered Swapbot in 2009. I have been in different groups and learned so many different crafts and art. I love to be challenged by. I have made friends from those groups. Even there are bad times with those crazy people but I still have other more friends to be supportive and comforting. It is like my therapy.

@rabbitfreedom HAPPY SWAP-BOT ANNIVERSARY!!!!

I am still fairly new here, and heard about it via postcrossing (one of the postcrossers asked me n the back of a postcard if I swap on swap-bot, so I googled the name). I decided to join because I LOVE giving and receiving snail mail. I've had pen pals on and off through the years (since sixth grade), and it's a huge stress relief, as well as a way to make connections with others on a less-threatening way.

I´m an "original member" of the ´Bot. I never really thought about that until a few months ago, I was asked when I had joined, and I went aaaaallll the way back in my archived swaps and saw that my first one was in March of 2006. Wow! So it has been a while!

In the early 2000s I was an active member of Nervousness.org, a wonderfully creative online community of folks doing mail art and other such swapping. It was kind of like Swap-bot, although even more intensely artsy (not a lot of purchased postcard swaps, for example). That's where I first encountered ATCs, artful paper dolls, and the like. Unfortunately and due to technical (programming) issues, Nervousness went down and never came back up. How I mourned its passing! Swap-bot fills most that void, though there are still a few things peculiar to Nervousness that I never found elsewhere. At least I was part of that for a while.

Nowadays I am very grateful that Swap-bot exists! Over the years I have had periods of lots of swapping and periods of inactivity, but now it´s hard to think of my life withOUT Swap-bot in it. <3

I joined swap-bot in July of 2017 after watching a YouTuber opening happy mail and they said they were on here. So I checked it out and decided to join up too and have loved it ever since. I have met tons of interesting people and got a lot of cool craft projects too. I really enjoy the pen pal swaps. I love sending happy mail and it brightens my day when I receive happy mail.
