QnT Snowballs for Christmas #1

8-25-20 thru 9-25-20

--1 partner

--6 snowball blocks to each partner

Let’s collect enough Christmas print snowballs to make a small project by Christmas time.

Instructions:

For snowball centers cut: 6 different Christmas print charms 5-inch by 5-inch.

For snowball corners cut: 24 pieces 2-inch by 2-inch square from the solid or tone-on-tone options below. Note – you will need 4 corners of the same color for each of the snowball centers, so you can cut them all from one of these options or cut 4 from each option. Just so each of the centers has 4 matching corners. Maybe you will want to color coordinate the corners to the centers .
RED, GREEN, BLUE, GOLD, SILVER, WHITE, (solid or tone-on-tone print)

Sewing:

  1. On the wrong side (back) of each corner draw a pencil line from one upper corner to the opposite lower corner. Upper left to lower right

  2. Place one snowball center face-up on the table and pin 4 matching corners to it with the side showing the drawn line up. Or right sides together.

  3. Stich on the drawn line on each corner, cut off the excess fabric on the corners and press.

  4. You will do this to each of the 6 centers. Mail all 6 to your partner.

  5. Follow the above instructions and make 6 for yourself.
If there is enough interest, we will have 3 rounds of this swap, and will end up with 18 snowballs from partners, and 18 snowballs we made to match the ones we mailed to our partners. A total of 36 snowballs will make a nice baby quilt, lap quilt or tablecloth come Christmas time.

Let’s get busy throwing some snowballs around!

A good idea and easy enough. But I don't celebrate Christmas and don't save Christmas fabrics that come my way so I couldn't come up with six without buying FQs which, in fact, I don't want to do.
