Description:

Welcome to Writer Bingo!

If this is successful, we'll do it again. For this first round, all of the words are authors.

The game rules:

This game has been set up as a swap to ensure accountability. Each player will choose 25 words that will serve as the bingo card. Each day, I'll randomly pull 5 words and call them by posting in the comments section until someone calls (posts) BINGO by completing all 25 words on her/his their list.

I'll start calling words on Monday, Sept. 14.

Each player will send the winner a book by any one of the authors on the list. That's the winner take all part! I'll send the winner's name/address to the players. (In the event of two or more winners, each person will receive an equal number of books. I'll divide up the players and I'll send the names/addresses of winners.)

It'll be a good idea for you to print out your list so you can mark off the called words each day.

I won't be playing, but will send out a postcard and prize. I will also send a consolation prize to the person with the least number of called words. :)

Group membership and 4.8 or higher rating required to play.

How do I get rated?

So glad you asked. When you get your partner's name, send a postcard with a note. Be sure to put your name/forum name and WTA Writer Bingo on the postcard so they'll know what it's for. When you get your postcard you can rate your partner. The actual game will continue until a winner is announced.

Recap

To play, you'll need to do the following:

a) join the swap

b) choose any 25 of the 100 words on the list below. Those 25 names will represent your "bingo" card. Post your list in the comment section before the last day to sign-up. Be sure to include the number and the word, i.e. 30) Jane Austen for each of your choices.

c) when partners are assigned, send your partner a postcard greeting via snail mail

d) when a bingo winner is announced, mail the winner a book (new or gently used) by any author on the list of 100. The book is sender's choice. Winner(s) cannot specify the author they'd like to receive.

Hope everyone has fun!

BINGO!!!!! I FINALLY HAVE A BINGO!!!!!!

PoMoGolightly 10/ 2/2009 #

Congratulations! I had one more left....

junemoon 10/ 3/2009 #

I have a BINGO too, but Jess definitely Bingo-ed first, which makes her the winner! I'll be sending a book to Jess when I get her address.

Artistic 10/ 3/2009 #

According to my records, there were actually three people who had bingo. Willa Cather would be proud. :)

I'll e-mail Jess's address to everyone. And send a surprise to the other two.

Thanks for playing everyone. I hope you had fun, got a cool postcard from your partner and that you'll join in (bring a group friend!) in the next round which will have a different word list and a different winner-take-all prize theme.
