Quitte a few people responded in the forum that they like writing prompts. Here are a few. I think some of them would work for a poem. You could write an essay or story. Any kind of writing will do. Maybe you can use this prompt to experiment with a form you don't usually do. Two partners. No recent low ratings. Snail mail. 1.Write a letter or journal entry as the start of a novel. Some of the best stories in the world (Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, Dangerous Liaisons) are related to their audiences through letters and journal entries. 2.Write an obituary/eulogy in a humorous way. 3.Imagine you're a prison guard supervising visitations. Relate a conversation you hear.
5.Think about a story (movie/TV show/play) that you thought was too predictable. Write a more interesting version of the tale with a surprise ending. 6.Observe people as they exit a store. Try to pair them with their vehicles before they get to them. Write about someone who surprised you with his car choice. |
