Hello Fellow Swappers! I have participated in a few notecard swaps and I love receiving new ones to add to my stash. When I send notecards out to my partner, I always try to embellish either the notecard or the envelope (or both!) in some way. It's FUN! The notecard is already made, so it takes just a few moments to add some sort of embellishment to make that card really special. When I used to go in the card stores more regularly, I always gravitated to the cards that had some type of embellishment....glitter, pretty envelope, or even 3-D items. You can make the embellishment as simple (adding glitter to flowers?) or as involved (3-D embellishments, making your own envelope?) as you like. These are just simple suggestions--I know there are many other available options for embellishments. Shoot--you could even run the card through your cuttlebug inside an embossing folder--that's SIMPLE! Let's face it--LOTS of the notecards we buy are just a piece of cardstock folded over--sometimes they're NOT very special and, oftentimes, the paper is less than sturdy. So....let's doll them up and send them to partners! You will have 2 partners, and you will send each partner 3 embellished notecards. That's 6 total, and remember that you needn't make each notecard a glorious project, so if you are short on time, do six simple embellishments. I guarantee your embellishment will make a BETTER card than what you started with. Requirements: Embellish store-bought notecards and/or envelopes Send three (3) of the embellished notecards with their matching envelopes to two (2) partners That's it! Very simple and we will all receive some "special" notecards to send out and be able to take credit for their beauty! haha..... Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, but it you sign up, please follow through! Swap-bot is sacred ground for some of us, so let's not besmirch (haha) the territory! |
