I have copied this exactly from the Big Swaps group swap I am hosting...because I liked the idea. :) Move over bills and junk mail, Cup and Chaucer group is here to brighten August up a bit! -- each day for at least five days you must send your partner a piece of mail. If you send a postcard, be sure to write a note on it... make it fun. :) You can send five letters if you like, but for more fun mix it up a bit... a postcard one day, a letter the next, a picture you have drawn or poem you have written the third... include at least one "little gifty item" one of the days... this is sender's choice, but do look at their profile for themes, colors, or ideas. The gifty thing doesn't need to be big... it might simply be a blank postcard you think they'd like, a tea you love, or a post it note pad. It might be a bookmark you embroidered, or a candy bar they love (or you do!)... whatever you want to send!!! This swap doesn't need to cost more than a regular letter stamp (plus card) each day, but can include a package if you want it to. Just make sure you have sent five pieces of mail. Even internationally, postage can be reasonable for this swap. Remember, you pieces of mail might not be delivered on five separate days, or even five consecutive days, so don't rate down if they are delivered in a weird way. Just look for five pieces of mail. If for some reason you can't send one day, just double up the next. :) ( You are correct if you are thinking that this is not actually literary in nature... except that we will be writing. But still, I thought it would be a fun way to get to know someone in the group better, and get some Fun Mail! ) Flakers will be hoisted up onto the flagpole and jeered at, while we eat doughnuts down below and point and call names, and you only drool over the doughnuts. Chocolate frosted, with sprinkles. Do not flake... this is a pretty simple swap and is FUN MAIL. |
