for expats would this be out current location or our homeland? :)

Drachenfrau 08/31/2006 #

Oh, I would say how you like it. It's your decision. :-)

user2278 08/31/2006 #

Do you have a price guideline as to what the item(s) should cost?

Drachenfrau 08/31/2006 #

No, there's no pricelimit. I think everyone should send an item, that is nice and no scrap.

What about those free pens that businesses give out? I wouldnt mind getting some from other towns, and it would be fun to go aroung looking for a few new ones in my town. I would send more than one of course.

Drachenfrau 09/ 4/2006 #

Hi Debi,

I thinks, that's a theme for another swap. A pen doesn't represent a town or land. More a famous building or something like that.

user1867 09/ 5/2006 #

Ok, any suggestions, Ive found post cards that show pictures of our town and some of the neat places Ive actualy been, any other suggestions? From anyone, thanks all, deb

Drachenfrau 09/ 5/2006 #

Hi Deb, famous building in small/little, a mug, a scarf, something with the symbol of your town. If you don't find anything, then a pen will be fine I think.

user2034 09/ 5/2006 #

Is this an international swap? ^_^

I suggest...hummm...stickers, boule de neige, tipical cookies, postcards+pen, a travel guide, 2/3pins, a baseball cap, a lil historical book or publication, monument-shaped candle...and so on...lol

Drachenfrau 09/ 6/2006 #

Hi Tirabaralla, thanks for the ideas! :-) Yes, it's an international swap.

I collect magnets & keychains with the name of the area that you live

Hey there, I got a loverly swap from Ireland, but unfortunately it contained both seeds and food which are against australian customs laws. So instead of the parcel, unfortunately I received a letter from customs instead. I know it's not the senders fault, but perhaps all those sending to australia should take better care to make sure they send something that doesn't conflict with australian custom's laws. I know it can be a pain in the ***, but unfortunately if you don't want to disappoint your swap partner, you need to be careful of these things.

Drachenfrau 10/ 6/2006 #

Oh, that's bad. I'll mail you.

FYI, in case anyone is interested: In general, both food and seeds- any "agricultural" items- can and will be confiscated by customs to protect against the spread of organisms that can be harmful to native species and/or crops under production. Anyone in the southeast US may be familiar with kudzoo- this is the kind of invasive species that nop one wants more of! I have had luck only in sending highly processed foods, like candy.

Hi I am only checking this link now since I haven't recieved my swap yet :( I am so sorry Ividdythou. I was your partner, I sent shamropck seeds and Irish rock, (a sugary candy) along with a few other items. I am so sorry, I should have looked up the laws! (doh) I hope you got no hassle from Customs, and I am more than happy to make another package for you... will be more careful this time!! promise. :)

Drachenfrau 11/ 3/2006 #

Come on girls. There are a lot of you who haven't send yet. At least send a message to your swap-partner. It's not very friendly. :-(
