Description:

The spring solstice or vernal equinox is the day in spring when daytime and nightime are of equal length. This occurs around March 21st of each year.

This special day has been celebrated by mankind for thousands of years. Even the earliest civilizations kept track of the seasons and stars, to help plan their planting and gathering schedules. For many different societies, the spring solstice marked the end of winter and the approach of spring, fertility, and fresh food.

We're all ready for spring, right? :)

Soon it will be time to plan our gardens. Yay!!

So let's celebrate the forthcoming spring solstice by sending our swap partner 3 (three) packets of flower or vegetable seeds, (or a mix of both). Sender's choice.

Write a little note to your partner on what you'll be or hope to be planting this spring. ~ Do tell! :)

Please check the expiration dates on the packets before sending, we don't want to send any "bad seeds", now, do we? :)

The packets should be the regular size packets, usually costing around $1.00 + each. You can find these at any local home improvement store or garden center.

I'm giving a 2 week turnaround to ensure that everyone has sufficient time to shop and post their packets. PLEASE secure your envelopes/packages well, and PLEASE put the seed packets inside a Ziploc style baggie. We don't want the mailman sprouting radishes. :)

Recent 1's or 3's without reasonable explanation will be banned. Sorry, no newbies this round. Keeping in the USA because many countries have restrictions on mailing seeds, however, please feel free to copy if you wish to host an international version. :) (Credit me, please.) If I have inadvertantly copied someone's swap idea, which I'm pretty sure I haven't, please accept my humble apologies, and let me know so I can credit you. :)

Looking forward to this swap. Always looking for a variety of sunflower seeds. Anyone have sunchokes / Jerusalem artichokes ?

can we send along anything we saved from our own garden? I have tons of celantro seeds!!!! We use it in everything!

I can hardly wait for Spring! If I am your swap partner I would love to have seeds from your garden. :)

@samjowers That would be fine, as long as they are sent as extras only, since the swap is for store-bought packaged seeds.

OK, Thanks!

Ended today for a day extra mailing time!

I highly recommend putting the seeds in a plastic ziploc baggie and also taping the edges of the envelope, so the contents don't fall out or get mangeled/wet during shipping.
