About Me

I am an elementary school teacher in Holly, Michigan. I LOVE paper and any paper craft.

I have four wonderful children. My oldest is off at college and my youngest is in kindergarten. My family has great times together. Our schedules can get crazy, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

I am always reading and taking online classes. I love learning and trying new things. I raise and train Siberian Huskies, the most beautiful dogs on the planet!

MY DAUGHTER: I've joined a few swaps with my youngest daughter. Her name is Rosie and she loves purple, pink, and anything princess or Hello Kitty. Really, she'll love any buttons, bits of ribbon, die cuts, and stickers you send. Thank you!

Favorite Crafts

I am crazy about paper: vintage paper, textured paper, scrapbook paper, patterned paper...all of it.

I create altered books, up-cycled journals, ATCs, cards, and scrapbooks.

I AM SAVING MY SWAP-BOT ENVELOPES, and binding them together in a book. I love to receive decorated and handmade envelopes :D I also crochet, make zines, and I've just started swapping inchies and paper art dolls.

I am collecting ATCs and journals that are related to Christianity and scripture. I'd love to trade Bible study or faith related ATCs in private swaps. Let me know if you want to trade!

Theatre

I love everything about the theatre. It is such a magical creative process to work with others and bring a story to life. While professional theatre can be wonderful, I would much rather watch a show put together by a community theatre group. There is something wonderful about teachers and lawyers and cashiers all getting together on stage. I am currently directing a very funny melodrama and writing a children's Christmas show.

My goal in 2011 is to go see 52 stage plays! I started on January first with Mary Poppins, what a great show!

Favorite Things

I recently got a Canon Rebel camera and am having a great time learning about photography.

I love my little terrier mix pup and my team of Siberian Huskies!

I collect ATCs, Mr. Potato Heads, vintage valentines, and musical instruments. I am just staring a Mini-Zine collection. I'd love to swap zines with you!! I'm collecting journals, art dolls, & ATCs related to Christianity and the Bible for a women's conference at a Christian camp.

Comment: I noticed that you have not signed into SB since the day you marked "sent" on this, your only open swap (as of 11/8), one day after the send deadline. Comment: Thanks for hosting this swap and the beautiful ATCs. I like the idea of receiving 20 ATCs in the mail. Some of the ones I've received so far have been super and a couple of them have barely met the requirements. But I sent private messages to those senders and encouraged them to look at other websites to get ideas for ATCs and to understand what the expectations are. When I see the time you put into yours and know what I put into mine, it is a little bit frustrating to get some really shoddy stuff in the mail. But that is the chance we take. Thankfully most of the swappers on here are good ones.

I've already added two pages (notes from swaps), 3 more ATCs (yours makes 4) and a fabric Valentine! I'd baught a $1 mini scrapbook that they were in but your book put them all to shame!!! My new favorite way to 'store' ATCs!!!! The rest of my collection is in 3 ring binders in the baseball card holders 9 per page but this is WAY better! They wil get moved ;-D

I love your comment 'Another Note'.....I, too, enjoy seeing another person's interpretation and artistic expression! It is sweet, however, when they express their heart and giving spirit by tailoring their art to my taste. I do prefer though, that people show me who they are artistically-I enjoy collecting and saving the work of others much more than my own!
