BULLETTIN ! ! ! PLEASE, PLEASE READ . . .
I have suffered an unfortunate life event wherein my basemeny flooded and I am in the throws of trying to deal with that. It is a gigundously big mess and I've lost a lot - not only has my real property been badly damaged, but I've lost a tremendous amount of personal property, including a lot of my crafting materials. Because of circumstances (I'll try and attach a message that I sent to someone previously), the bulk of the work to rectify this has fallen on my shoulders and must almost alone I attempt to accomplish this task so I haven't been able to focus on much else than that over the past week or so. And when I've tried I haven't been too very successful.
I know that before all this I joined several Swaps and I intend to honor my various obligations. If you are due a package from me, you will get a package from me. That's my promise. I just ask that whoever out there it is I owe a package to please bear with me for a little and I will make sure to send your package along in the most expeditious manner I am able.
I am NOT a flaker. I take swapping seriously and I don't want to jeopardize my rating - which at the time of this writig is a perfect 5 (with hearts) - thanks to you all.
So, please just give me a "minute" and I'll be sending whatever was the particular swap on it's way.
Thanks much for reading. Thanks for allowing me to sort of get this "weight" off my shoulders and most of all, thanks for understanding.

ABOUT ME
I am a mother of 4 (3 daughters and 1 son) and a grandmother of 4 (3 boys and 1 princess).
Until I discovered the love of all things paper, I was an avid fabri-holic. I loved (and still do love) anything fabric related. Any way and by any means that I could manipulate fabric to create most any kind of thing was for me, however, sewing was my fondest manipulation. I started making clothing, then learned to quilt. Then, through quilting I learned dollmaking. I was hooked. I loved being able to manipulate small pieces of fabric to create tiny fabric babies and their clothing. I'd found my niche and that was fine ...
Until one day I discovered that I could manipulate small pieces of paper -- to make cards. So, with paper, scissors, glue, a few embellishments and my brand new Cricut in tow (and a few pieces of fabric from my stash, of course), I started on this new journey and I haven't looked back. I am so addicted - a love so much stronger than mere infatuation - and I fall more and more in love with paper and fabric and the endless possibilities each and every day.
I plan to use this site as my showcase mostly for my paper or paper/fabric creations, but every now and again I may exhibit something I've created solely from fabric.
Occasionally, I may blog-down my thoughts about this creative venture or even whatever else is going on in my life, my world.
You are more then welcome to come along on my trip and maybe we can learn from one another.
When you visit, please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by. Let me know if there was something you saw or read that you liked, or even if you didn't.
Thanks for stopping by.

This is a Personal Request:
I am a non-smoker and I am very sensitive to the smell of smoke. If you are a smoker, I would like to ask you to please take this into consideration when sending a package to me.
I'm not a big fan of what's on television these days; I much prefer programs from "back-in-the-day." Since these are infrequent on television, I began buying box sets DVDs of the programs I liked a few years back. I have programs like: Kung Fu, I Love Lucy, Topper, Ossie and Harriet, Leave It To Beaver, Rawhide and other old westerns, Dragnet, Green Acres, Petticoat Junctiion, and the list goes on.
So when I do turn on the television, it's usually for "company" - just to hear other sound than my own breathing. And the channels I tend to frequent are the ones that give me viewing much like what I listed above: the western channel (don't know what it's called; just know the channel number for my area), TV Land, Bravo and Encore. I also like TCM. For the most part, I'm at a loss to tell you of current running programs except for "Drop Dead Diva" and some other legal/courtroom drama of which I can't begin to tell you its name and neither of which I know their air-time. I just kind of happen onto them.
Right now, my favorite craft is papercrafting.
Ok, here's the skinny:
I am a big fan of bright, jewel tone colors, especially those that have a "gold-en undertone."
I think Black & White (together) accentuates most any color and gives is a bit of "wow factor."
BUT, my most favorite colors are:
Red-Orange
Orange- Red
Orange
Yellow (any shade not pastel-y)
Orange-Yellow
Yellow-Orange
and, I don't know how or why it happened, but lately I have just been over-the-top in love with this pink color. Well, not pink per se, but more like a cross between salmon and coral. Hint: If you look at raw salmon, add a touch more of pink to it.
These are some of the things I really like even though I don't have much of these things on hand:
FIBERS - I have yarns but mostly not of the kind considered as the type of fibers one would use on the binding of mini-alums and tags, etc.
HEAT EMBOSSED IMAGES - I love the look of these types of stamped images and I attempt to make them myself. I just don't feel as confident in my ability to create them so am often dissatisfied with the end-product. (I'll keep trying though.)
CHARMS / JEWELRY FINDINGS / LARGE BEADS - No explanation necessary.
EYELETS - I especially like the larger version, which I have found kind of difficult to find at my local crafting outlets.
TIM HOLTZ - I love most anything Tim Holtz. I'm especially drawn to his tools (particularly the paper distresser and the foam blending tool), distress inks (my favs: black soot, antique linen and walnut stain) and papers. I've begun to purchase some of his products, but the local stores carry very little of his product line, if anything at all.
GRAPHIC 45 - Renaisance Faire and La Romantique are my favorites.
K&COMPANY - I already have quite a bit from this product line, but that doesn't stop me from liking and wanting to buy some of the new stuff that's coming out.

I'll have to remove you from the Newbie Niceties group until your handle your negative ratings and provide the ratings you owe.
I'm brand new to swapbot & Love your profile page. You sound like the kind of lady I could sit down & craft with for hours (taking lots of breaks for good food, of course)
Hi De, love your website and (more importantly) your passion for paper & fabric. Maybe we could swap mini-albums??
I just want to say to everyone:
Thanks for making me feel so welcome and making my 1st swap a pleasant experience.
Hi there!!! I would love to see your fabric and paper creations, they sound really cool!!! :D Anyhow, I stopped by to let you know that I emailed you a bit ago with my memories for the memories swap and I hope you enjoy reading what I wrote!!! Happy swapping :-)
Hi! Welcome! I hope you love it here.
Hi De,
I stopped by because I saw you were part of the keychain swap. I love how your profile is a narrative: quiet, contemplative, beautiful. Lovely blog, too. (I'll echo Debbi--would love to see fabric pictures!)
Maybe we'll be partners! :)
Naomi
Hi De,
I joined Swap-Bot around a year ago, but just decided to today to jump in and participate. So I wrote up a profile and then was exploring and trying to figure out how to view other members' profiles and yours is the first one I came to. You said to leave a comment, so here you go...
Your blog is beautiful, as are the cards you've made. I was hoping for a glimpse of your fabric babies, but maybe another time. I share your love of paper and scissors and glue (and glitter?). I also have 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, like you. I am loving being a grandmother. I know now (like I didn't when my own were young) how important it is to just let everything else in life take a backseat and just completely focus on the enjoyment of being with them.
I saw that you are also new to Swap-Bot. I hope you have fun. I hope I do too. Maybe we'll end up being partners someday! Debbi
