Hello! I am 34 from Dallas, TX. I have my BA in Sociology and Multicultural Women's & Gender Studies. My dream is to work for a NPO helping impoverished families and/or women recovering from domestic violence.
I walk every year in the Texas Freedom Parade; equality across all races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexes, chosen genders, sexualities, religions, abilities and disabilities is extremely important to me. Life is short and I have no patience for hate.
I'm a total geeknerd; I cosplay various characters at local cons, and I'm a huge Whovian. ^_^
I have loved music since I learned to read music and started singing competitively at 8 years old. I am self-taught in acoustic guitar and ukulele. I can find something I like in every genre of music, including international music in languages I don't understand! Discovering new music is a love of mine. Good music is truly timeless and can touch people the world over. I love everything from metal to electronic, pop, dance, Latin and oldies.
Some of my favorite bands/musical artists include: Coheed and Cambria, The Beatles, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds (Five), Ingrid Michaelson, Rilo Kiley, Cake, Queen, The Hush Sound, The Rocket Summer, Old 97's, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Rufus Wainwright, Morrissey, Elliott Smith...and far more.
I'm also a huge musical nerd! ^_^ Being a choir kid my whole life has given me a passion for musicals. :)
I have a broad taste in movies, but I mostly enjoy raunchy comedies, musicals and independent films. I DO NOT WATCH HORROR/GORE. Some of my favorites movies are The Royal Tenenbaums, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Amelie, Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Pretty in Pink, Baseketball, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Batman, The Avengers, She's Out of Your League, 10 Things I Hate About You, Talladega Nights, I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek.
I started digital scrapbooking in 2011, but I have been a craft lover my entire life. I have always been a creative person and my latest foray is card making. I am getting into stamping and building my collection. I really hope to find some awesome card swaps on here so I can get better and share the love with others. I also enjoy DIY crafts and upcycling. :)
I don't watch a whole lot of television, but I do love Netflix and when I find a show I like, I become obsessed! Here are some of my all-time favs and new obsessions: I Love Lucy, The Office (US and UK), Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Handmaid's Tale, and Doctor Who.
Tea, purple, coral, mint green, vintage, raunchy humor, Batman, Loki, The Avengers, Doctor Who, volunteering, Mexican food, margaritas, geekery, Shakespeare, 50s fashion, pin-up girls, crooners, oldies, WGWGs, washi tape, Havaianas, Marilyn Monroe, Funko Pop!s, Washington DC, and magnets from places I've never been!
Glitter, scene kids, Superman, vampires (especially sparkly ones), celery, pork, Family Guy, phone calls, junk mail, summer, hypocrisy, dust, greed, Japanese cherry blossom-scented things, beer, bugs (including ladybugs and butterflies--THEY'RE STILL BUGS), high heels, haters, people who twist my words, and liars.
I love Tom Hiddleston. A LOT. Like a really lot. Like probably way too much. I sit around and Google him when I'm bored. I get actually jealous when people repin from my Pinterest board-full of images of him. I'd stalk him if I had the time.
Brad William Henke. From my interactions with him, he's a funny, nice guy irl who cares about his fans and his craft, and an incredible actor. And he's ridiculously handsome.
And Scarlett Johannson. ^_^
I have super sensitive skin and dermatitis; I can't do anything from B&BW and I prefer to use natural products scented with essential oils in the bath. If you make your own perfume oil or bath products using natural ingredients, they are just fine!
I prefer not to receive faith-based/Bible quote items; cards are ok as I can give them to my mother, but anything else won't be used. However, inspirational quotes are welcome as I post them all over my home.
I don't like overtly scary/creepy things. I have seen enough terrible things in real life, I don't need anything else to scar me further. No horror, no zombies, no gore, no ritualistic violence, etc. In line with this, I am adamantly against ownership in my home/use of guns and do not like gun images in any form. Please respect this.

Just seen your comment about Gospel of Loki, it is about the Norse Loki written in his voice. He's one snarky sarcastic s.o.b. in this book, it's brilliant. It's not just a fanfic of Hiddleston's Loki, as some reviewers who clearly never read the book have implied, but he's his own own creature and you get feeling the author isn't really in control :) I highly recommend it
