UPDATE: Since the last time I logged on I lost my job, worked odd jobs until I found a new one, got promoted, moved companies, got promoted again, moved states, started a new job, and got promoted to manager in January. My little one is 14 now (almost 15) and a freshman in high school…still a hockey player but now also a cross country runner and aspiring actor (in high school theatre anyway.)
Still married to my soulmate (although it’s now 20 years.) I can’t do anything about dropping off after losing my job 5 years ago but I’m willing to start over and try again.
(This is still a thing) During hockey season we are at the rink 4 (or more) times per week so I might not be around as much during those times but I promise not to join a swap unless I have plenty of time to complete and send it.
I have a big teenager now…I don’t plan to do any kids swaps but I may do something he’s interested in…hockey, cross country, traveling, etc. we are both Celiac (he was diagnosed since the last time also) so we probably won’t do any food related swaps.
Nothing has changed as far as this goes… I am a book fanatic. I have tons of books in my office and a kindle with over 60 additional books.
My favorite authors include (but are not limited to) Steinbeck, Austen, Shakespeare (sorry I know it's cliche but I love him so much I took a whole course in college on just his works...and I was an ag major), Jonathan Kellerman, Colleen Houck, Camy Tang, Jeaniene Frost, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, JK Rowling, Phillippa Gregory, Sinead Moriarty, etc. etc. etc. The list just goes on and on... At the moment I'm reading Lean in.
I do need to put a disclaimer on this one though...if the book is going to make me sob I'm not going to read it. I have a great respect for Nicholas Sparks but I feel like life is depressing enough without having to read about a child dying of cancer or a solider receiving a dear john letter. I can't even make it through his movies much less his books...
That being said, most book swaps are senders choice and I'm all for that, if it's something I won't read I'll pass it along to the neighbors, friends, or family. ;o)
This hasn’t changed either… Some of my favorites include: The princess bride, Tombstone, Grease, anything scary, all the Harry Potter films, I'm a sucker for a good love story, and almost all christmas movies...
Favorite TV... Honestly...if the person on tv isn't on ice with an NHL logo on his chest I probably haven't seen it! ha ha ha When I do get something other than sports I like crime shows, true crime shows, and the ever mushy Lifetime Movie Network. ;o)
Here's another category where I can go on and on. I love to crochet and knit, they are probably my favorite crafts. I also sew, cross stitch (but it wears on my patience a bit), I can needle point, and I'm a novice photographer. As for scrapbooking, card making, that kind of stuff, I have admiration for those who do it because I'm not patient enough. I'm also of native american decent (cherokee) so I love doing native crafts like dream catchers and jewelry.
Some more of my favorites:
Sports: Hockey (I'm a HUGE hockey and Nashville Predators fan.), or anything my little son is playing (at the moment, hockey) I also love just about all Texas Aggie Sports
Color: Pink. I know it's mushy and girlie but I've ALWAYS loved pink...since...like...the womb. And Maroon (of course I'm an aggie). I usually am wearing either one or the other...or both. ;o)
Animal: Ok I love all animals. We currently have 2 dogs. I grew up riding horses so of course I love them (anybody who really gets to know a horse can't help but love them). I also love unicorns (I know this is also girlie but maybe deep down under the hockey mom there's a little bit of a girlie girl there), Monkeys (my son's nick name is monkey), and cute bugs like butterflies (they hold a very significant place in my heart) dragonflies, ladybugs, etc.
Style: I am a very girl next door type. My make-up, clothing, jewelry, hair, etc. are all classy but conservative.
Cultures: I LOVE learning about new cultures, religions, countries, etc.
Um. There's not much I don't like. I don't like the color orange...
Sweets are just not utilized much in this house, we make them...we just don't eat much of them
I don't want to have anything to do with vulgarity in any form
I don't dislike rings but I only wear 3 (my wedding band, my A&M class ring, and my thumb rings with my son and husbands names and birthdates on it) so...if you send one it just won't get much use...
Cows...I don't dislike cows, quite the contrary I LOVE them...all shapes and sizes but because everybody knows I love them they are taking over my house...plushies, figurines, soaps, you name it...someone has given it to me.
My husband is not allergic to anything but my son and I have both been diagnosed with celiacs disease so no wheat, barley, or wheat like grains.
Things I would very much like:
Anything hockey related. We are fully immersed in the hockey world and love the sport.
Anything with unicorns, butterflies, or dragonflies.
Christmas ornaments, from all over...something specific to your location. I collect ornaments whenever I can whenever I travel.
Teapots, I didn't intend on collecting them but I do drink a lot of tea so people starting gifting them to me and now they are all on display (only 5 or 6) in my kitchen...
Bookmarks...I read constantly and am always looking for one
I LOVE scary stories and ghost stories (we LOVE halloween) so anything scary and creepy
stitch markers...I am always crocheting or knitting and always looking for one (there's a little troll somewhere with a whole bucket of my bookmarks and stitch markers)
Recipes, cookbooks, etc. I love to cook and bake and am always trying something new...(even though I can't have gluten everyone around me can)
Socks, funny, colorful, crazy, warm & fuzzy...I LOVE all socks
Books. As I said I'll read almost anything...
Specifically Crochet Patterns and books. I crochet a lot and love new patterns, especially vintage and thread crochet.
Coffee, Tea, powdered creamers.
Coffee:
I'm not a fan of the extra bold coffee or the fruity stuff (peaches and cream coffee is just gross), but I LOVE hazelnut, chocolate, caramel, and plain coffee and am always willing to try something new (except fruity coffee...shudder)
Tea:
I haven't tried many teas that I don't like. The licorice tea that I tried was awful but I think it was more the brand and less the type of tea. What I drink on a regular basis is constant comment (spicy orange peel and all spice) but I love black, white, green teas...I love flavored, unflavored, crazy flavored...I have loved tea in all it's shapes and sizes since my great grandmother gave me my first cup of "Proper Irish Tea" with all that cream and sugar. ;o)

I'm so pleased you like the necklace I created for you Angie : ) I love roses too. You're so lucky to have a garden full of them. I used to have some roses at my old place but haven't got a garden any more. Thanks so much for the offer of a private swap. I'd DEFINITELY love to swap with you for some Day Of The Dead stuff : )
I like the idea of a a regional color swap! Maybe you should host it!
ha ha ha...I was doing a bookmark swap and I wrote down which bookmark for which person after reading their profile...obviously I made a rose bookmark for one of my swap partners. Not sure how that sticky note made it into your package though...ha ha ha Did it have your address on it? ha ha ha Well...at least it was crossed out...ha ha ha Sorry about that...
BTW...I thought this was hilarious but the sticky note you enclosed had the name Rose crossed off the top. My husband's ex wife's name was Rose Park!! LOL! Too funny and random coincidence!
