50 something crafter for over 15 years now. Love mostly making cards and doing internet swaps. going to classes learning new techniques. Do a little part time work in respite care work with the elderly and volunteer work with the Red Cross and also back doing Caring Caller for St John Very caring and generious as well. Starting to journal again and would love to do private swaps on a one to one basis with a trustworthy person.
Huge fan of Andre Rieu in fact are lucky enough to be going to his concert here in New Zealand in October. I also love music from the 70's 80's and 90's/ Music to me is a great therapy and when I am creating cards and scrapbooking love to listen to my favourite CDs or have DVD's playing in the background in my craft room/
Have always love to read and finally getting back into regular reading these days.. Always enjoyed Danielle Steel books but find that more and more I am reading historical romance novels. Also like to read true story books as well.
Again I like those based on true stories or the kids cartoon movies that have good story lines. Just watched Astro Boy last night. Recent movies have been The Young Victoria and have booked on Sky to watch My sister's keeper. Favourite movies from the past are An Officer and a Gentleman as Richard Gere is one of my favourite actors. Updating this to include watching this weekend The Chipmunks The Sqeaul (sp) movie which had me cracking up laughing all the way through this movie.
Like watching Masterchef Australia and Masterchef New Zealand, Coronation Street, The Bill, Cold Case, Criminal Minds and shows like Police 10/7 a New Zealand cop show, Rapid Response, Rescue One, Animal House Border Patrol and and sports games like Rugby Union, Rugby league, some soccer and horse racing. I also like Highway Patrol,Winners and Loosers,Packe to the Rafters,Two and a half men,Hot in Cleveland, Harry's Law
Favourite crafts are mostly to do with card making, love making all kinds of cards and do dabble with a bit of scrapbooking and art journalling as well and to include here becoming hooked on doing journalling. There are so many different ways out there that one can do these that it doesn't have to be the mundane boring every day stuff either.Just started doing collage art and now getting into making zines as well Favourite stamp compaies are Hero Arts and Inkadinkadoo. Love my Cuttlebug its the best tool that I have in card making. collect pretty designer papers particularly 6x6 designer pads, love clear unmounted stamps, use embellishments like rhinestones and pearls by Kaisercraft, stickers peel offs/like sentiment type peel offs, Happy birthday, happy Christmas, Best Wishes in gold and silver. Kaiser flowers and trims(ribbons) and prima flowers as well With stamped images I love anything Christmas, floral, animals butterflies and dragonflies Asian themed, quotes and sentiments
Also looking for one or two pen pals looking at long term friendships with writing when you can as I realise we are all busy these days. Looking at one to one swaps in card making related swaps either with embellishments or cards with themes. Did I mention one to one swaps as in themed journal swaps and the like. Love cooking even though I am a Diabetic. Also quite like making home made postcards with specific themes to swap as well. And also collect postcards as well.Would like to do personal zine one to one swaps with people who could show me new ideas for these.
If sending things to me please note that I live in New Zealand and the customs department will not let things through like feathers, potpourri and stuff like that. Our border patrol is very very strict with stuff like this. Can't think of anything else to add at this point but do check back often as I will probably update if I think of other things to add here. Adding to my profile . I am starting to make zines using the one sheet method and hoping to join a few basic swaps for these where possible.
With my postcards I prefer mine unwritten on in most instances and put in an envelope as that way they don't get lost.(have had this happen a bit over the years of being an avid collector).Having said that if the swap calls for it to be written on and sent naked I can also oblige that way and just hope the Post don't loose them in transit. I have just seen some lovely black and white type postcards that look like they are vintage or there abouts I don't mind receiving these, generally my love is landscapes and the such but old buildings cats children that sort of postcard is fine by me as well. Also like multi view type postcards too. Adding to my postcard profile. I don't mind them coming to me naked.
NOTECARDS Starting back into collecting notecards now as well, writing notecards can be a lot better for me than to write long letters to penpals as I can run out of things to say there. My preferences are for floral, scenes at the moment but this will grow as i get more into building my collection again
I am also getting back into ATCs again. I have about 3 full ring binders with ATCs that I have collected through various Internet swaps. I liked themed ATCS the best, letters of the alphabet are fine, and themes like animals, floral, winged things people, travel are what I normally like to do but am also open to trying new themes as well. I am also now that I am semi retired getting back into photography and have already joined some of the photography swaps here. I like taking photos of scenes most of all but as well like taking photos of things of interest either in my own area or places that I visit. People are ok too but have to learn to not cut off their heads or feet when taking photos of them. I am also getting into journal writing and journal swaps with different prompts and as well now adding quotes to that list. I want to add here the reason for my recent three. I hadn't read the instructions properly and had sent my 100 prompts in an envelope rather than sending them in a whimsey jar. the recipient was happy with what she did receive just that I hadn't sent it how it should have been.

Hi, Carol, I just mailed off your poetry/quote journal today. Don't know how long it will take to get to you from California. You can be looking for it though.
Just wondered if you got either the original notecard I sent or the resend yet. Looking forward to hearing how you like them!
I was just about to sign up for your Sentence a Day Journal Swap for March...but it disappeared on me. Just wanted to make sure it was cancelled on purpose and not just mysteriously gone. :) Will you be hosting one for April? I hope all is well! I really enjoyed participating in the December one. :)

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I resent the "What do you know about my country? #6" postcard earlier this week, so keep an eye out for it :)
