About Me

I am from San Diego...presently living in Albuquerque with my husband and several cat kids...I have two daughters (39 and 34) and two grandchildren (15 and 18 ) ...I'm an artist, former co-owner of an art gallery and am a personal trainer; I teach beadwork, fiber arts and mixed media art classes.... but I love to work in all mediums!! I also am a Reiki practitioner. I have SEVEN cats (I don't know..must have been the neon "vacancies" sign on my roof!)

I like a lot of music...from big band, swing, contemporary jazz to 70's/80's rock, Celtic, indie, Inca, Country etc.

Stuff I Love and Collect

I Love my garden...I love hiking, biking, creating...I love old things/antiques and I'm fascinated with ancient cultures...

I collect vintage jewelry, Victorian era shoes and handbags, old bottles..medicines, quack cures, cream crocks...sewing machines, ephemera, vintage sheet music, books and love old documents..and old photos..love old photos of children..transferware china, bowls

I Love Vintage Christmas things, all things Halloween...patriotic stuff..Uncle Sam, vintage flag things.

My favorite motif is the heart...favorite colors..old warm red (or faded red) ..and orange and teal..my new favorite colors.

My house is eclectic in decor...lots of warm pine antiques (we lived 4 years in England) and reds...warm red in every room (and now oranges, teals, mixed with grays as a neutral)..and I love black...kitchen cabinets and appliances black...makes the colors pop!

Response: Ohhh TY TY! The pom is actually a photo of one of the dolsl I did using a dried pomegranate for a head..on the atc I used watercolor paper...background was artist blending chalks (sold at michaels..I love them) and swirled on with a pompom (better than cotton balls) and then highlighted the edges with distress ink...you must try the artist blending chalks..made by inkadinkadoo..I use them all the time! I have the soft tones palatte. ,,they are the greatest thing ever...I spray with a little workable fixative after using the chalks so they won't smear...try them!!
