Married, one kid in college, new grandson (as of December 6, 2007),love to draw, love vegetable and flower gardening (esp. heirloom plants), baking, and growing and cooking with herbs, wine tasting.
Good music, any kind, any style, but mainly jazz. Traditional and smooth jazz--I don't discriminate. I could go on and on with the different kinds of music I love, but the fact is I absolutely love it and can't imagine not listening to some kind of music every day.
Too numerous to mention. Film noir is my favorite genre, but a good movie is a good movie. I am a certifiable film buff, and I love independent and foreign films. Old movies are a favorite also, as you can tell by love of film noir.
House, Lost, Numb3rs, Veronica Mars, Boston Legal, Heroes, Supernatural, Without a Trace, Firefly, Buffy, Medium, Journeyman, CSI, My Name is Earl, Office (Brit and American versions), Extras, The Shield
Needlework (crochet and knitting) and paper crafts, calligraphy, drawing with graphite and colored pencils, making beaded jewelry. Floral arranging and graphic design (former occupations.)
I love all shades of green and yellow. Blue, lilac, lavender are favorites as well.
Let's just say I love as many colors as you can think of. It depends on the season, my mood, the style of decorating, and whether I am wearing it or decorating with it. I'll use flowers in an arrangement that I would never wear. My wardrobe leans toward black year round. Makes getting dressed extremely easy in the morning.
Salads, because I love crunchy things, and chocolate and peanut butter, which I classify as a necessity in my diet.
I also love good coffee, strong with a little milk and in the summer I like iced coffee. (The perfect espresso is a thing of beauty.) I love tea as well, and I like the new peach and raspberry yerba mate teas that are out now. I love southern sweet tea.
I am not only originally from the south, but also Italian, and I love a plate of spaghetti with a crisp, fresh salad.
I'm a fast reader and I read compulsively. Mysteries and police procedurals are a great favorite. I love the Ruth Rendell Inspector Wexford mysteries, and the Martha Grimes Richard Jury books.
My favorite authors are Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Virginia Woolf, Edith Wharton, Louisa May Alcott.
