Hello, my name is Mindy and I am from the surrounding suburbs of Chicago. I am a mom to 2 young adults. I love animals; I have 4 cats, 2 frogs, a fishtank full of snails. My house sometimes feels like a miniature zoo! My favorite animals are definitely frogs. I've actually received the nickname Froggy because of it! Aside from realistic animals, I also have a love for mythological creatures, especially dragons and fairies.
I have always been interested in nature. For the past few years, I've been working on a flower garden in my yard and am always looking for new plants to add to my collection. I'm a coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon kinda person. I haven't found a tea or coffee I didn't like so I am always open to try the strange and unusual flavors. I have a terrible sweet tooth. I love candy, circus peanuts are my favorite next to licorice and jelly beans. When it comes to food and drinks I'm ready and willing to try it all.
I like all colors and lately find myself using earth tones/colors, browns, oranges, greens and yellows. My favorite colors have always been and always will be green and yellow.
A few years ago, my sister and I started to make greeting cards, We love coming up with all the designs to send through the mail! We then discovered Swap-Bot and all the amazing swaps included. From joining Swap-Bot I have extended my paper craft hobbies to include ATCs, pocket letters, handmade envelopes and washi tape collecting.
When I comes to music I enjoy it all. Lately I find myself searching the stations for the music I grew up listening to, yep that's right it's the' 80s. Like, it's totally rad man.
My all time favorite movie is also my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice. I also like sci-fi, classic horror movies and Tim Burton movies like Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice.
I love sci-fi, horror and fictional history. The Walking Dead, Dr. Who, Star Trek, American Horror Stories, Vampire Diaries, Reign, Being Human, Fringe, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural.
Card making, Handmade Envelopes, ATCs, Pocket Letters, and other various paper crafts. I've also started to crochet, learned how to from my grandma when I was little just never started anything until recently.
Favorite Colors - Green and yellow but I enjoy all colors
Tea - I enjoy all kind, all flavors, bags or looseleaf. Some of my new found favorites are rooibos, earl grey and fruit flavors.
Animals including reptiles and insects
Dragons
Fairies
Nesting dolls
Flowers, nature
I enjoy Spring and Fall more than Summer and Winter
Favorite holiday is Halloween and I like all the creepy, scaryness that goes with it
Handmade items
Mail Art - Handmade envelopes
Vintage (pre-1970s) gummed stickers or seals
Washi tape
Notecards
Letter sets
Postcards
Memo sheets and sticky notes
Stickers - any style, just not a big fan of multi layered or puffy kind
Rubber Stamps
Scrapbook Paper
There are only a few things that I can live without, perfume scented items and magazine cutouts or little scraps of paper. I don't have a use for them so they just windup in the recycling bin.
