I am a writer, artist, and occasionally also dabble in things that keep the bills paid. I live in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Things I find interesting: games and puzzles of all descriptions, poetry, cartoons and anime, plants, shiny things and semiprecious stones, veg*nism, cello and oboe music, antique or tiny keys, weather and the sky, faeries, stars, anything to do with the sea. I like art and photographs (and dishes, and statuary...) that are fruit or vegetable themed.
My favorite colors are blue, silver, and white (except on the days they are red, orange, and black). I like books and simple wooden or cloth toys.
I'm fond of candy, and I like junk food as much as anyone. However, PLEASE NOTE: I'm a vegetarian.
A list of favorites -
Scent - amber (mmmm); wood smells, like cedar and myrtlewood; Flying Fox (available through LUSH); lavender; mint
Season - Autumn and Spring. My ideal climate would be made almost entirely of the mild, transitional seasons.
Animal - foxes ("kitsune" is the Japanese word for "fox"), and after that it varies.
Flavor - Lime, raspberry, strawberry, ginger, vanilla. Chocolate - for me, milk is better than dark.
Beverage - Flavored black teas. "Good Earth" is my favorite bag variety, and I get my loose teas from Adagio. White tea can be delicious, but I don't care at all for green tea.
Flower - Poppy, sweet pea, snapdragon
I'm a writer.
I enjoy drawing now more than I ever have --- thank you Danny Gregory --- and papercrafts like quilling. I am not an origami fan, but almost anything else that can be done with paper interests me.
I occasionally do small stitcheries by hand, like recent projects on Cut Out + Keep. I've inherited a "vintage" family sewing machine, but I'm failing to launch it, so far.
I can spend hours surfing art & craft weblogs, and unfortunately this cuts down on the time I spend actually MAKING THINGS.
