Hallo, My name is Neeltje. I am an Arts&Crafts teacher. I love to make textile art. My biggest pleasure is to create things and spreading them around the world. Love to get inspired by other creative people.

Favorite Crafts

As an Arts&Crafts teacher I like all kinds of Crafts. My favourite however is making textile art on my sewingmachine. I sort of developed my own style and it has no name. Some people refer to it as crazy quilting and it has some resemblance with that. However, for quilting I don't have enough patience. I just like to put colorful fabric to a background and let it happen.

So, I like to sew, knit, crochet, collage, origami, macramé and zentangle.

Favorite Colors

All the colors of the world are wonderful. I love them all. It's thrilling to go out into nature and discover the most excuisite combinations. If you look closely you can see so many wonderful things, even in a raindrop. I am a big admirer of design-seeds.com

Please don't send fabric. My stash is so big, I could cover my whole country and still have scraps left. The only fabric I am looking for right now is cat fabric. Not the fabric your cat has been lying on, but fabric with cats on it. If you are looking for fabric, I am more than happy to send you some.

Favorite Books

There are many books I like. Historic novels, modern literature, thrillers. I enjoyed The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson but also Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Isabel Allende and Paul Theroux, and many many others.6-1-2017 Just read I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes, couldn't stop reading. In 2019 the book that moved me most was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. 2020 so far: The eight life (for Brilka): Nino Haratischvili and, finally, Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada.

Favorite Music

My taste in music is very divers. It goes from Pop to Opera. Whenever I hear something interesting I try to find out more and put it on my favorites on Spotify. If my hart makes a little jump when I hear the song again, it stays on my list.

Comment: Hellooo!! I’m a little bit lost for words this package is incredible!!! The vintage paper is so cool and the scrabble board is perfect for book binding. And thank you so much for the fabric I’ve been looking for some with dinosaurs on for ages :)) that’s so cool you are a sewing teacher!!! I have not made a microwave pot holder yet but I keep seeing them on social media so might make one, thanks for the suggestion :)

Wat een plezier om zo een prachtige envelop in de bus te vinden en om alles eruit te halen, was net kerst :-) Super bedankt!!! Comment: Neeltje, today your Jumbo Envelope was waiting for me when I came home. It's a first swap i received till date, in such a wonderful Envelope and amazing boiled paper and wooden pencil. I never saw such pencil before. Garbage bin, flower, handmade envies are lovely. Garbage bin is really wonderful. And Ton of thanks for the postcards with fish stamps. Comment: Oh Neeltje, where do I start! Your package arrived just as I was heading to work and I could not wait to get home to open it. The decorated envelope was a great clue that you had some good things in store for me…so now I am drinking a cup of tea you sent and I immediately hung the ceramic platypus from my art shelf…I am calling him Pete😊 To mention all of the lovely extras you sent would turn into a small book, but I want you to know I love them all and instantly got so many ideas. Also, thank you for the little desk top garbage bins and adding the instructions on how to make them. The fabric hearts are so cute, I don’t want to stick them on a card…so I am going to drop some essential oil on them and use them as little air fresheners! Again, thank you and I hope we get to trade again sometime 🤗

I've had a chance to go through your wonderful handmade envelope - my fave things are the coins and the cigar bands! Are the insects tattoos? How do I use them - put them in water and press against skin? I also love your paper cluster, and TY for the ATC sized items :)
