I consider myself to be a happy go-lucky hippy/boho chick. I will try anything twice - everything deserves a second chance.
I work in the costume industry, creating, renovating, researching and exploring; As a result I'm exposed to huge amounts of beautiful fabrics, buttons and trimmings... My stash is testament to my lack of willpower!
I live in West London, with my (mostly) patient partner (he suffers my crafting) and twin grey striped cats (both boys). The cats love to play, so any gifts for them will get a heart from me!
I have an magpie-like curiosity with anything shiny or sparkly. My favourite colour is purple.
I'm a vegetarian, but not a preachy one. I have a very soft spot for marzipan and cherry flavoured things. And stars...I just love stars.
I also LOVE Milk Duds, so any of you lovely peeps in the US want to send me some, I'd be so happy.
The types of craft I enjoy are anything to do with sewing (obviously!) except cross stitch I just don't 'get it', Altered Art, creating beautiful objects from other people's junk; I'm really into recycling, jewellery making (in particular beading), Sock & glove animals, Patchwork & quilting.
I really love baking. It's my escape from everyday life. I'm always searching for new and interesting recipes to try.
I also really like learning old-fashioned skills and crafts, all the things your Granny used to make when she was young.
I'm really getting into Whimsey Jars, I'm constantly amazed at how pretty and inventive people are with how they decorate their jars and what they manage to cram into them!
I seem to have a growing obsession with buttons; I'm not quite sure how it started but now I can't get enough of them! I prefer brightly coloured or interestingly shaped ones.
I love reading; I have shelves and shelves of books. I really love reading literary classics and fantasy novels; my favourite authors are JRR Tolkien, Jane Austen, Robin Hobb, The Bronte Sisters,Terry Pratchett, Frank Herbert. I love the poetry of W.H Auden, Dylan Thomas, D.H Lawrence, Shakespeare and Sir Walter Raleigh.
I'm also abit of a geek when it comes to craft books and magazines, I just can't get enough of them! Especially ones that show you how to make things from found/recycled objects.
I'm not going to write a huge list of things I dislike; but a few things I have absolutely no interest in: Scrapbooking, Card making, crotchet/knitting. I don't like coffee or coffee smells/flavoured things.
I love lots of different types of music, including Folk, Rock, Country.
