Hi, my name is Chriss and I live outside Seattle. I love the rain but hate coffee - I'm not sure why they allow me to stay in the state. :)
I have been a paper-crafter for years (mostly cards and some ATCs) and dabble in drawing, painting, quilling and clay. I enjoy learning new techniques and would love to learn how to knit or crochet. I'm working on my mixed media skills (why does everything have to touch!?) and am inspired by other SB artists.
I've been swapping handmade items in other forums for quite a while - ATCs, Inchies, Coasters, Matchboxes, Magnets, altered puzzle pieces and I just discovered Pocket Letters! I love to send cards to my friends based on their favorite movies and television shows.
I'm 52 and live with my husband of 25 years and our 6 cats and 3 dogs. All of our animals are rescues and we try to support a variety of animal charities. One of our dogs is from Tijuana! Our latest addition is a cat named Ragnaros - his mom got a new boyfriend that is allergic, so she was going to let him go. He's ours now! I'm officially a crazy cat lady.
I am amazingly socially awkward in person and email!! So sometimes my communication can come across as a little strange - my friends say I'm quirky, so lets go with that! :D I have a very dark sense of humor, which doesn't help my case but I'm friendly and always want to make people smile.
I collect bat items - crafty items (of course), jewelry, drawings, sculpture, figures, statues, stuffed animals, toys, dishware, anything! BATS!
Look at that little face!
Bats, bats and more bats! I traveled to Australia in 2007 to volunteer at a bat hospital and I'm still just as enchanted. I love everything to do with them, regardless of the species. BAAAAAATS!!!
Crafting: Bat items, embellishments, flowers, clips, charms, metal findings, Halloween papers, patterned ribbon, ATCs, Inchies, handmade cards, drawings, clay figures, small art objects, pocket letters, matchboxes, puzzles and tags. Really, any supplies!
I just started doing wax seals - I have 6 different stamps and I'm loving it!
Anything Halloween - it's my favorite time of the year! So, bats (of course), skulls, bones, bloody stuff, ravens, tombstones, etc. I enjoy cutsie Halloween as well.
All other animals, particularly ravens, rabbits and lambs for some unknown reason (hmm, one of these things is not like the other!). I've recently become fascinated with stags and their horns.
Horror Movies/Monsters - I love vampires that don't sparkle, werewolves that eat people, as well as Aliens, Predators and the like. I have a soft spot for the Creature from the Black Lagoon too. Really, anything that will eat your face.
I also collect Funko Pop figures - I'm trying to get all the monsters and characters from my favorite tv shows and movies.
Anything to do with Mythology, particularly Greek, Roman or Egyptian.
I love hieroglyphs, Celtic designs, postal marks, and handwriting designs.
Conan the Barbarian - my father gave me the 13 volume set by Robert E. Howard for my 13th birthday and I've been hooked every since.
The colors grey, blue and purple.
Dragons, Unicorns, Pegasus, Mermaids, Fawns and other Fantasy characters.
Dinosaurs - Woolly Mammoths, Raptors, Stegosauruses.
Captain America and the Winter Soldier.
TV Shows: Prodigal Son * Elementary * Lucifer * Hannibal * Supernatural * The Pretender * White Collar * CSI
Movies: The Omen Trilogy * Aliens * Predators * Dredd * Doom (my favorite to play while I'm crafting) * The Avengers (I have a soft spot for Captain America, the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye) * Dracula Untold * Jurassic World... the list goes on
I have a terrible weakness for B movies - Tremors * Big Trouble in Little China * Fright Night (both versions)
Music: Panic! at the Disco * Fall Out Boy * The City Drive * Augustana * BSB * *NSync * a LOT of 80's music - Rick Springfield and Duran Duran being first and foremost.
Books: Watership Down * The Leandros Brothers series * Conan, The Destroyer series * Dresden Files * original James Bond * Percy Jackson. I love fantasy series.
Other: My sense of humor is absolutely inappropriate and I love NSFW items, be it journals, postcards, etc. Yes, I'm a horrible, horrible person.
Please do not send me:
Any Stickers that are reward or teacher-themed (except the little sparkly stars, I love those!)
Hello Kitty, Anime, Kawaii, Manga
Food/edibles
Scented items - candles, lotions, etc. or items from a smokey home.
Scrapbooks
Religious items
I'm extremely excited to start swapping and meeting new people.
I will always rate and I will always send my swaps. Please let me know if you have any concerns about a late swap before you rate and I will resend. I promise to do the same for people sending me swaps.
Thank you!

Weird Profile Deco #3 - Art
I went with sculptures:
Erika Sanada - I love her stuff; it's cute and creepy at the same time.
Beth Cavener Stichter - another great artist who does weird fabulous things.
Cameron Stalheim - his most famous piece is a merman, but it doesn't lend itself to the 300x300 format.
Xooang Choi - Does some weird shit.
Enjoy!!

This unique piano house is in An Hui Province, China.
So you see it is not so much about the place as the unusual architecture.
