I'm single with no children, but I work as a children's librarian and am around children constantly. I have one cat, all black. I guess you could say she is my baby. It's really hard to find anything with an all black cat on it that isn't Halloween, and so I'm always looking for that. Before my masters in library science, I did a degree in linguistics with a minor in French. I really like French stuff (cafe or wine theme) and art history. I used to have turtles which I had to give up, but I still collect turtle things though slightly less often. I also adore old (40s or so) pin up girl artwork. I'm really involved in my community, church, and volunteering.
I'm just starting to cook on a pretty regular basis and a decent level. What else? My family is Southern, but I grew up (mostly) in Kansas (Kansas City area).
Recently I moved to Alaska. I'm exploring around here and I adore it so far.
Country, Christian, French stuff (Louise Attaque and Florent Pagentry as well as 40s stars and ), 90s Alternative, Classic Rock (especially Rolling Stones), etc. I'd say my music taste is eclectic, but that is a cliche.
I'm a librarian. Pretty much everything. I especially like children's books, fantasy, and science fiction. Favorite authors include Sharon Shinn, Eoin Colfer, Orson Scott Card. I've been known to sneak in a "trashy" romance or two.
For the most part, I crochet, card make, and scrapbook. I occasionally cross stitch, but I'm not very good. My mother is very crafty, she sews, crochets, knits, cross stitches, and (mainly) quilts. I have dabbled in sewing and quilting as well. Recently, I got a new sewing machine and I'm getting back into it. In addition, I do about a hundred different kids crafts either with the kids at the library or just for fun. I'm also looking for more things to do for me, with kids at work, or anything.
I like pink best, followed by black, gray, etc. Shortly followed by blue and yellow and brown. I don't really like green or red, and I'm more of a solid colors gal in pastels or earth tones, or just a few combinations especially pink/gray and pink/brown.
