27 year old guy from California, joining swap-bot on a friend's recommendation. I'm pretty geeky and tend to enjoy video games, movies, and reading. Of those, I tend to enjoy science fiction and fantasy the most.
No pets, my job doesn't let me have any, but do like dogs.
Even though I live in California, my heart belongs to Washington State. I grew up near the Washington Coast so I don't mind rainy days. The Cali sun is great, but the heat gets to me. Give me cold and rain any day!
My favorite colors are green and blue.
I'm trying to start a collection of wolf related items. My family has collected art, figurines, and the like of wolves and it's just something I'm starting to do myself. My other favorite animals are raccoons and penguins.
In addition to the wolf collection, I've inherited a collection of old postcards. Postcards from anywhere are wonderful, especially if they haven't been written on.
I can't make it throughout the day with at least one cup of coffee, but tea is great for calming down at night.
I'm not a super crafty person but I have some very, and I mean very, basic crochet skills. I can learn some different stuff, but it may or may not turn out very well.
That's about the extent of my crafty goodness.
Like I said earlier, some of my favorite books are fiction - specifically science fiction and fantasy. I'm finding that as I get older I'm enjoying the stories that were either read to me when I was young or that I read growing up.
Examples of favorite books include: The Chronicles of Narnia series (CS Lewis), The Abhorsen series (Garth Nix), The Lord of the Rings (all three, but the Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite part - dig the Mines of Moria), The Time Quartet (Madeleine L'Engle), The first 13 books in the Oz series (Frank L Baum), The Dark is Rising sequence (Susan Cooper), and The Chronicles of Chrestomanci (Diana Wynne Jones). Those are some that I've grown to love growing up, and definitely hold a firm place on my bookshelf.
Television is one of my definite ways of relaxing. I enjoy HGTV (Holmes on Homes and Property Virgins are awesome) as well as a ridiculous amount of reality TV. Amazing Race, Survivor, Biggest Loser, and Big Brother are all shows that have a permanent place on my TiVo recording schedule.
Outside of reality TV I enjoy The Office, Bones, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Saturday Night Live, The Soup, Chelsea Lately, Lost, Glee, and Fringe.
While it doesn't technically count as TV, I've also really enjoyed a web tv show called "The Guild".
Movies I go a little crazy on. I primarily enjoy comedies, but enjoy a good action movie as well. Honestly, my mood dictates the type of movie I watch. I keep the whole gamut around.
Growing up near Astoria, OR I have a huge love for The Goonies.
I'm not a big fan of horror/slasher films, yet I really enjoy the Resident Evil series. There isn't a movie that Milla Jovovich is in that I don't like, no matter how horrible it is.
