I am a journalist in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. I love photography, outdoorsy stuff like hiking and kayaking, painting, and music. My favorite type of music is probably classic rock, although I really like bluegrass and Americana, as well. I also love to write short stories and poems. My short stories tend to be along the fantasy/supernatural lines. Poems are... well, all over the place. I love to decorate and do artwork with art deco/Morrocan/folk art themes. I go to World Market and spend way too much money. It's kind of embarrassing. I am trying to relearn Spanish right now.

Where do I even begin? I truly love jazz and blues... Mingus, Coltrane, BB King, Bessie Smith, Satchmo... But I also love bluegrass and Appalachia... Hayseed Dixie, The Civil Wars, Run Boy Run... I'm also a nerd and like Gregorian chant. It's soothing and centering. You should also check out DJ Yogi. That's some fun stuff there.

The only music that I'd prefer not to listen to is rap.

Cooking. (Well, it's more an art)

I paint prayer cards and quotes with acrylics and watercolors. I love doodling and drawing with all kinds of this. I keep notebooks in my purse just for my doodles.

I make cord rosaries. (It's all in the knot.)

I can't knit. Tried and failed. I want to try crochet.
