My name is Farrah. I am 31 years old and married to a wonderful(younger!) guy that makes me very happy. I don't have any children of my own, but I love spoiling my nieces and nephews! I love sending and receiving snail mail!(almost as much as my mail carrier likes to shove it in my tiny little mailbox until it is nearly unrecognizable as mail) GRRR! I also like to read, watch movies and t.v., and hang out with my husband and my friends. I've been known to be a bit sarcastic, self-deprecating(not defecating!), and pretty funny on occasion. I like to make people laugh, and I always try to see the upside of a situation. I do have a moody side and I occasionally get a bit anti-social. I think it must have something to do with my dreamy, reflective, Piscean nature. I also like to use an excessive amount of exclamation points!!! (and parenthesis)
About my swaps, I like to send extras, so if I have something that I think you might like based on your profile, I will probably send it. I hope you don't mind! If you are thinking that maybe my amount of completed swaps is a bit low, don't worry... I only join swaps that really inspire me; that way, I know that I will do my very best to make/send something you will absolutely love (or at least be able to tell I put forth my best effort)! Sending things to people to try to brighten their day makes me happy. Also, I try to reuse packaging whenever I can,so some of the envies you receive from me may appear a bit battered and tattered, but they will not reflect what is inside, I promise!!
I love many types of music. Music has always played a big part in my life, and it can greatly affect my mood. I usually go through phases where I will only listen to one kind of music for awhile, then I'll change it up to something new. Right now I am definitely loving Florence & The Machine, Mumford & Sons, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Ray LaMontagne, and Regina Spektor. I have always loved the Beatles and generally any band that has a state or a city for their name; Chicago, Kansas, Boston. Good stuff. Tool is one of my favorite bands, and Tori Amos is one of my favorite female artists. I was raised on classic rock and I like most rock music except metal. I also like to listen to classical when I need to recharge my brain! Chopin, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky are good for my soul. The hubs listens to country, so a few songs have snuck onto my likes list, but it's not my favorite.
I. Love. Books. I love to read books. I love to be around books. I could spend HOURS in any bookstore or library. I'll read almost anything you put in front of me. Autobiography, fantasy, mystery, thriller, etc. I tend to avoid historical fiction and romance. Other than that, I'll probably read it. Right now I am reading Russell Brand's "Booky Wook". It's pretty good so far! I'm also reading "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. It is so beautifully written! I don't own a kindle, and I don't think I ever will. I think the technology is fantastic, but I just love books too much to trade them in for an electronic device! Also, I love bookmarks, but I am always misplacing them!
I have far too many movies in my favorites list to tell you all of them, but they cover a pretty broad spectrum.
Every John Hughes movie ever made, Goodfellas, Cinderella(original Disney - don't judge me), Very Bad Things, Garden State, 50 First Dates, Any zombie movie(especially super-fake gory ones-hilarious!), Natural disaster movies, Space movies(even cheesy sci-fi ones), interesting documentaries, Dirty Dancing, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the list goes on and on and on.....
My DVR is always full of TV waiting for me to watch it! It's kind of a mess.
I like doing all sorts of crafts. I occasionally make jewelry, though I'm not sure I'm very good at it yet! I love to paint and do paper crafts, like ATC's, bookmarks, greeting cards, envelopes and such. My favorite art styles/themes are vintage, abstract, mixed media, and collage. Unfortunately, I can't sew. I have tried, but it just isn't something I'm good at. I have decided that this year, I will be learning to crochet. Any beginners tips would be appreciated! I also like to make my own candles. Recycling and finding new uses for household items is always fun too!
and if there is anything else you need to know, feel free to ask!
A few things I would love to receive if you have unwanted extras lying around:
.... Really anything that would look great on an ATC!
Thanks again for taking the time to read my profile!
****PS****- I'm not a big fan of the "dislikes" list, but I must tell you that I suffer from psoriasis and am unable to use any scented lotions or body washes. Perfumes and body sprays that can be sprayed on clothes are ok though!
