Updated 8/18/13 I am a Filipina who moved to New York 13 years ago, and am a Mom to a 9-year-old son and look forward to doing more swapping here and hopefully meeting some new friends. I am currently all caught up with the swaps and look forward to a more organized trading schedule for 2013.
Having collected postcards for almost 30 years now, I am trying to find homes for the postcards which aren't in my collecting interests. I try to send according to profile when I can, and will be happy to swap individually if you have any particular collecting interests of hard-to-find PCs.
I take pride in the ATCs I have produced and those who have received my cards will attest to the fact that they are of good quality. I still consider myself more of a crafter than an artist, and I try to send out cards which I would want to receive myself.
I blog at http://pinaynewyorker.com where you will read about the things I do as a 46-year old working mom in New York. I write about the projects I'm into.
I am very new to ATCs but enjoying learning about it and making it. I do mostly collage, doodle art, zentangling and digital or hybrid collage. I like experimenting with backgrounds by trying new things and working with different forms of paper.
I have a second blog at http://gothamchick.com which is more about crafting, and is connected to my Etsy store, http://gothamchick.etsy.com. I have been selling since 2010 but have put the shop on vacation mode the first part of 2012. I just recently reopened the store and am trying to repopulate it.
I'm into doing crafts, writing (yes, snail mail!), and am trying to do art now, although I don't consider myself to be an artist. I enjoy working with watercolor and acrylic paints and find this a very effective channel for self-expression. I am getting into some journal swaps selectively and find them to be very fulfilling!
I ask that you be patient with me and write me if there is a delay or such a mistake before rating and I will make things right. Thank you for your consideration.
I have always been into paper and actually make my own christmas cards every year. I do hybrid scrapbook elements/papers printouts and now incorporate actual collage.
I love working with freshwater pearls and gemstones, particularly rose quartz and labradorite. I am not too good with stringing but can do wirework and chains.
In the last year, I've worked and experimented with polymer clay as well and am currently into die-cutting.
I have always loved to write and had started doing an online journal even before blogs came into existence. I didn't start blogging until August 2004, though, shortly after the birth of my son. Almost 2 years ago, I discovered Art Journaling thanks to Julie Fie-Fan Balzer of Balzer Designs (http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com). Again, I don't consider myself an artist but this has helped me in expressing myself and memorializing every day things in a form that I can remember things by, with or without the use of words.
I collect:
maps
lighthouses
anything New York (vintage and modern)
anything Philippines (vintage and modern)
anything Paris (vintage and modern)
Disneyana (from parks I've visited, but I do not trade them)
Mail art
I do not mind receiving postcards which are not among the PCs above. I love postcards in general, and I join swaps with the intention of interacting with fellow postcard collectors. Keep them coming!
... or if you don't receive what I sent, please contact me. I don't mind resending, even twice over, until the PCs or ATCs make them to you.
As a recipient, I have been pretty lenient when a swap is not received on my end. What's more important is that I get my item to you. Please let me know if for any reason you don't receive something I owe. I may be late, but I always send the item. I've learned my lesson and now communicate promptly when there is a delay on my end.
... were a result of non-communication of delays which I regret and now avoid by being prompt with the swaps and communicating when there is a delay. My last delays were caused by the snow storm that hit us in New York.
I respect the right of organizers to ban but have selectively joined swaps now, so I would really appreciate being given a chance to join your swap if I sign up.
.. I have more than enough paper supplies. Thanks but save the paper for other swappers who might be able to use them. I would love to receive used stamps whether they are still attached to a piece of the original envelope or already loose. I am working on decoupaging them onto projects in the coming weeks...
I also don't drink tea. So again, thank you.
POSTCARDS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
While I appreciate the extras, I rate based on the item being swapped. Thanks again and enjoy!

Thank you for angeling the Random Country PC#1. Happy Swapping!
Thank you so much for the Cat postcard that you send me as an extra. I got it today. Yes, this PC was meant to be mine. I sure love cats.
Hi! Nice to meet you! Today i recieved my "Stamp my journal" journal back with so many beautiful stamps! Thank you so so much, really love it! I also love your handwriting... I hope you will join the next round? ;)
I happened to stray onto your Wordpress blog somehow while hopping around the internet. I've been lost in reading your posts for the past hour! I love the way you write. I am also partial to the fact you are from the Philippines as I have a childhood penpal who is from there. She is currently in Canada and after 33 years, we are still in touch.
Anyway, it was good to see you are on Swap-bot, too. Loved reading your journal prompted posts on your blog. :)
