Hi there! I'm Robin. It's nice to meet you.
2/13 update: My sister went into premature labor over the weekend, and I have been with her the past few days. They are both doing good, and my niece's name is Olivia Robin (after me!). This did cause me to be late on a few swaps. I have already messaged my partners to let them know why I was late and that their swap is on its way. I also mentioned I will fully understand if I receive a 3. Life happens, but I did miss a deadline.
I also had a bunch of swaps waiting for me in the mail when I got home last night. I have to head to work soon, so I will go through them tonight and rate! Thank you in advance for your patience. :)
I am engaged! My best friend asked me to marry him and, of course!, I said yes! Our wedding date is August 9th, and I feel like I have so much to do before then. There is way more to planning a wedding than I ever thought.
I come from a big family. 6 brothers and 4 sisters. I wouldn't have it any other way - but I don't think I want 11 kids myself. . .
I started a new job at the end of November. I love it, but it has been a very steep learning curve, and I am tired every single night. I was very active on SwapBot, but after I started I had to slow down. I'm going to ease my way back in.
I am a beginner hiker! I move very slowly, so I don't hike with many other people because they walk so fast I can't breathe and keep up. I try to get out at least two times a week. It is definitely a form of self-care for me. I always feel better after I get outside for a little bit.
I am the one that checks the mail at our house! I have the only key, so there's no way that Dan will check it and forget to give me something! Though, that's not the reason I have the key. We just happened to only get one. Haha!
If I mark it sent, that means it was put in the Outgoing Mail Slot in our bank of mailboxes that day. I may mark sent on a Sunday, but it won't get picked up until Monday.
Please contact me if you don't receive something. I do have a notebook where I keep track of all my swaps, and I update it every time I login to Swap-Bot.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY! If you are going to be late - let me know! And be honest about it from the first message. If you are crazy swamped at work, everyone in your house came down with the flu, your cousin's best friends uncle got a flat tire and you had to go help, so you couldn't possibly mail your swap on time - let me know!
I've been waiting 15 business days before reaching out to check on a swap that hasn't been rated or received. I'm not counting Saturdays and Sundays because I've seen a lot of you mentioning that you don't get postal service on Saturdays anymore.
I solemnly swear that I will rate all swaps! 1, 3, or 5 - you will be rated. And I tend to be very free giving with the hearts! If there is the unfortunate necessity of needing to rate a 1 or 3, I will contact you before rating. I will always write a comment with my rating as well.
I used to love reading books. I could read 2 - 3 books (or more!) in a week. However, in 2017 I was in the hospital on life support. Ever since then, I have had a really hard time concentrating long enough to read more than 20 or 30 pages at a time. I don't know if the hospital stay is the reason I can't concentrate, but that's when I kind of slowed down with reading.
I like to read series. I want to be with the characters longer! But. . . some series just drag on forever and it feels like most of the books are "filler" books. So I say anything from 3 - 6 books is a good series. Anything longer than that, and I find the quality suffers.
Country, Oldies, and Christian are my go to's right now.
BEN PLATT. If you haven't listened to his new CD, do it. Right now. I'll wait. :)
My boyfriend - now fiancee! - loves jazz, so it is almost always playing in the background in our apartment.
Oh gosh. I love reality TV. Even though I know it is FAR from the truth. Definitely like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. I have gotten Dan into it as well. He acts like he isn't, but he gets upset if I watch it without him!
Currently binge watching -
Vampire Diaries
Monk
Good Trouble
I like family dramas and need to catch up on This is Us before the next season starts. I've been seeing a lot of commercials for A Million Little Things, and I think I may check it out.
I saw a partner who had an ABC's of what she liked, so here goes ! I'll keep filling it out. . . It's strangely hard to list 26 things that you like on command!
A - animals (the "they're so ugly they are cute!" ones)
B - BLUE (any shade), beaches
C - Coffee
D - Dan - my wonderful soon-to-be husband :), dogs!, daisies
E - Elephants. They're my favorite!
F- flowers
G - green
H - hiking, Harry Potter
I - interesting, little known facts
J - jokes! Give me all the "dad" jokes you got.
K - kangaroos

S - Snail Mail - we all do!!, Socks, Stationery, Stickers, Snowmen! - I just started collecting them last year.

V - Verses - as in Bible Verses. Mine favorite is Romans 8:26. What's yours?
W - winter scenes - I don't like ACTUAL winter because it's so cold. But I LOVE how picturesque fresh fallen snow is. And frost covered trees.
X - X-Files
Y -
Z - I couldn't think of anything that started with Z. BUT I do have an affinity for people who have the letter Z, especially a double Z, in their name.
I would love to travel more! Anything related to travel, foreign countries, maps, etc.

So glad you liked the funky envelope with the Happy ‘Lil Notecard and extra notecards. I bought the ocean-themed notecards at a store called Reny’s up in Wells, Maine. :)
