Thought I would update my profile....I was told by one swapper I needed to add more. Guess I am easy going. I have a BA in Fine Arts so I am always trying new techniques, projects etc. Currently I am loving junk journals. So I have been collecting bit of stuff everywhere I go. My husband thinks I am crazy since I get upset if he throws things away. Like my avocado skins I was saving to dye paper. LOL I am also into dyeing paper. Did Balsamic paper...loved it! I am incorporating sewing into my projects and love adding the extra interest . I can scour craft stores, thrift stores and estate sales for that special ephemera.
I am pretty easy going...I am always exploring new ideas and items. But here is a few items that I like
crabs, birds, vintage, bohemian items...working on a junk journal, Steampunk items...love doing some of this style, people's faces....the more interesting the better, old photographs, old letters, postage stamps, scraps of lace or unique fabrics , sewing trinkets...like buttons, old lace, unique ribbons, old advertisements., international memorabilia ...like newspapers, postcards, etc, old book pages,
I love trying new techniques so if you send something you make ...I like to know how you do it or youtube sites to check out.
I use to read quite a bit....I enjoy Rollins, Lee Child, Dean Koontz but then occassionally I will read books like the Friday Night Knit club. I am currently reading the Lady in the Attic about a mystery cross stitch found by her granddaughter in a small New England town. I am enjoying the woman in the book.
This section is devoted to my family: My husband Walt is a wood turner and is a wonderful husband....he certainly puts up with me. I have two sons, Andrew who is an automechanic. He owns a beautiful German Shepard that I adore but she is much to big to handle sometimes. She thinks she is a little dog. My son, Matthew just finished his degree in Linguistics. He wanted to go live in Japan and teach them English. When he gradutated he got cold feet and decide not to go. Of course the recent Tsunami didn't help. I own three dogs, a toy Poodle, Rosco, an engergetic Jack Russell...Bandit and a mixed rescue dog named Rusty who has more hang ups than any dog that I owned. My most beloved dog was Harley a boxer who was put down 3 years ago. My heart still aches. I am a family person and dog lover. I also love feeding my wildlife feathered friends.
Since I started swapping I have been flaked on and while I understand life can get complicated a simple message to me goes a long way. I also understand different degrees of art and love everything I get. With that being said, receiving a sticker on a card really doesn't do it for me.
I don't like child like items like hello kitty, or such. If I get it I pass it along. I really don't need scraps of paper unless it was hand dyed...
Overall, I am pretty easy going.
