I joined swap-bot on October 24, 2007 - so please forgive me for the small amount of information here. I'm working on adding more. I'll first set up general categories to just get going and will expand them later. I found this site via Ravelry - which is a site for knitters. I live in upstate NY with my boyfriend and 2 cats. I currently live in a city but am a country girl at heart. I'm learning to play the flute. My favorite colors are pink and purple. I really dislike brown. I'm allergic to onions (green, white, shallots, leeks, scallions, etc). I love chocolate. Dislike black licorice. I don't drink coffee. I usually drink hot chocolate or tea (especially fruity or minty herbals). I love Pepsi (I limit myself to one can a day or less). Fall is my favorite season. I love sushi. My favorite sandwich is ham and american on multigrain with a little mayo (I know - boring!). I'm a computer programmer and work for the state. I have more than 20 years with the state. I plan on retiring in 12 years (not that I'm counting or anything, lol). I like my job (most days). My favorite daydream is thinking about what I'll do when I retire. Mostly the daydream is live in the country so that I can drink my tea on the back porch and watch the wildlife. I'd like to make and sell crafty stuff when I retire (jewelry, stained glass).

My favorite music is country, soft rock, and celtic. Least favorite: blues and rap. I will listen to most anything, depending on my mood. Currently my favorites (in no order) are The Corrs, Dixie Chicks, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Chris Smither, Tim O'Brien, Blackhawk, Wailin' Jennys, Suzy Boggus, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Hair of the Dog, Greenwich Meantime, Nicklecreek. Love Christmas music.

My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedy. I recently saw The Jane Austen Book Club and loved it. Movies I've watched many times: You've Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally, League of Their Own.

I love to read. I read mainly fiction. Love the historical novel, especially about Britain or Ireland.

Favorite all-time show is Northern Exposure. Current shows that I like: Boston Legal, Men in Trees, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Samantha Who, Lost Worlds, Dirty Jobs, Cash Cab, Myth Busters. I love my DVR!

I'm a long time knitter. I also like to make jewelry (especially bead crochet and wire wrapping), crochet, tat, and cross stitch. I used to do stained glass, which I really enjoyed. I'll do it again someday when I have the workspace. I've made quilts and sewed (made my 2 sisters' wedding dresses). I currently don't sew because I don't have a working space.

Dislike wooden utensils - gives me the chills when I use them. Afraid of heights.
