14/1/09: Happy New Year Swappers. After an unfortunately terrible swapping Christmas I am back with a vengance! All outstanding parcels will be in the post by the end of this week. Apologies for the delay.
Hello, I'm Jess and I'm something of a geek. I'm 19 and at the moment I live in London, where my life consists of literary analysis, writing creatively, bus rides into Central and Sainsbury's basics range. The trains go past my window like it's Belleville Rendezvous. (:
I like creativity; writing lists and diaries and stories and poems and letters, polaroids, photography in general, collage, blank paper, biro and paint, scrapbooks and origami and rudimentary felt stuffies and homemade cards, etc. At the moment I'm learning to sew and to knit.
I enjoy; making mess and fun, airports & hotels, city lights, English Literature, collage, comic books, face paint, make believe, moustaches, messy hair, diaries & scrapbooks, typewriters, tea parties, accordians, adventures, polaroids, mementos, video games, train journeys, German, Ben & Jerry’s, PostSecret, camping, Mythology, Paperchase, theatre, snail mail, bookstores & coffee shops, carrot cake, Lucky Charms and Doctor Who.
I am also a keen traveller and I love experiencing new places. I would love to go to Japan, India or Russia, but in all honesty anywhere new and exciting suits me! I love languages and culture. Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch & I am learning Russian and Japanese at the moment.
I would love to receive: anything handmade, letters and journals, matchboxes and whimsey jars, homemade stuffies (food with faces♥), polaroids, undeveloped film, your favourite photographs, drawings and paintings, ATCs, homemade postcards, mixed CDs, interesting things from your country, maps, quotes, quirky writing paper, felt scraps, collage scraps and ephemera, scrabble cubes and games pieces, interesting cookie cutters, recipes, a big, fat, vintage locket, robot/ pirate/ video game related things, things with rainbows/ polka dots/ apples/ strawberries/ cupcakes, etc. But I'm not fussy. As long as a certain degree of thought has been put into a swap, I can't complain.
I am a closet perfectionist so if I commit to a swap I will complete it with as much time and care as possible and to the best of my abilities. I only hope that you are suitably happy with the result.
I LOVE BOOKS & I am swiftly making my way through 1001 Books to Read Before you Die! Margaret Atwood, Sylvia Plath, Harper Lee, J. D. Salinger, Siegfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, John Irving, Michael Burgess, Jane Austen, Vladmir Nabokov, Franz Kafka, George Orwell, Pat Barker, J. K. Rowling, Bill Bryson, J. R. R. Tolkein. F. Scott Fitzgerald, Siri Hustvedt, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
At the moment I am reading: Amsterdam by Ian McEwan and Emma by Jane Austen.
Amelie, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Grave of Fireflies, My Neighbour Totoro (in fact anything from Studio Ghibli), A Series of Unfortunate Events, Juno, A Very Long Engagement, Little Miss Sunshine, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, In America, Edward Scissorhands, Moulin Rouge, Life of Brian, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Stardust, LOTR, Run Lola Run, Son of Rambow, The Royal Tenenbaums, Goodbye Lenin!
DOCTOR WHO (David Tennant♥), Friends, Scrubs, QI, The Mighty Boosh, Skins, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Flight of the Concords, The Big Bang Theory, Dead like Me.
Rocky-poppy-indie-emo music that I can sing along with and dance like a crazy person to [: Film soundtracks & Musicals (I HEART Les Miserables)

Best, Jacqueline
Was wondering if you'd be interested in a Doctor Who swap
Haha my friend is from Durham! She's getting married there next year! She was on Swap-Bot too, how strange! Tis a lovely place, as is Cambridge. :) My friend on the English course is called Abby, she lives in Marble Arch at the mo. And I have a friend in Loring Hall called Alex - everyone knows and loves her, she is the media queen who loves Disney and Aiden! XD Aww I miss Goldsmiths...!! mute x
Ahhh that's insane! I went to Goldsmiths last year! I stayed in Chesterman House - FTW! I was doing Media there but I dropped out, so I'm now up the road at Greenwich Uni doing English with an elective in Media Writing! My friend is actually on the English course at Goldsmiths, she's in first year too. :D A very small world! xx
Ah! "my life consists of literary analysis, writing creatively, bus rides into Central and Sainsbury's basics range" - this is completely me too! The basic range Jaffa Cakes are fantastic! :D Which uni are you at in London?
Me too! I'm really looking forward to it! (:
I'm so glad you joined the Amelie swap! Hope you have some fun!
