PLEASE NOTE: Please let me know if you have not received something, I've never flaked! :) Also, I rate as soon as I receive. If for some reason I have not rated you, please let me know as well.
I'm 34, married to my wonderful fella, James (as of 20th May 2017), and mother to two crazy furbaby cats (Claude - a 4 yr old grey tabby & Dixit, our new tabby & white kitten - unfortunately we recently lost Flynn, our 3 year old black & white cat). I live in Cornwall, England but originally from West Sussex, England. I've also lived in the USA for 4 1/2 years and in Wales for 12 years. I'd describe myself as a bit of a geek and definitely unique and often awkward. I work full time during the week and I volunteer with a local Guide unit (GirlGuidingUK).
I'm a Ravenclaw through & through! I'm non-religious however I don't have an issue with people who are if they respect my opinions and thoughts but I would prefer not to receive overly religious swap items. I'm happy to discuss religion and share thoughts and ideas, respectfully, but I don't want to be 'preached' at. I have an interest in learning more about Wicca and trying to be more in tune with nature and the earth.
Hobbies: penpalling, swapping, sewing, colouring, writing, reading (mostly anything but especially historical fiction and chick lit, fantasy, sci fi and psychological thrillers, craft books, mythology, education & childhood related, travel books and some biographies), travelling, learning, and photography.
I'm especially interested in culture and countries and would love to learn more about the different countries around the world, but I have a special fondness for Iceland and Japan.
I collect postcards, stickers and magnets and also figurines (Tatty Teddy & Fairy Poppets). I also collect Pressed Pennies from places I've been to.
Likes: cats, horses & red pandas, mythological creatures (especially Unicorns, fairies and mermaids) Vanilla, fruity/citrus, chocolate and marshmallow scents, Tulips, Butterflies, Stickers, Magnets, Postcard, bookmarks, Chocolate, Anne Geddes pics & Lisa Frank stuff
Dislikes: Spiders, skulls, Lavender & cinnamon scents, anime or 'rude'/x-rated stuff. Not a big fan of Pin-Up girls.
Most pop and country (the result of my 4 1/2 years in Texas!) but will listen to most things. Not a fan of heavy metal/rock though I like the more popular soft rock, popular songs (Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, some Aerosmith etc). I don't really 'do' particular genres though. If I like the song, I don't care who it's by or what genre it is.
I like some classical music but especially Pachelbel's Canon in D. It's such a beautiful piece of music and was my entrance music for my wedding.
Some of my fave artists include:, George Strait - I Cross my Heart (will be my first dance song), Reba Macintyre (most of her stuff), Boyzone, Westlife, The Script, The Cranberries, ABBA, Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Taylor Swift & Bryan Adams.
Sewing & embroidery, crochet, pyrography and rock painting.
Also: Card making, Colouring & fabric printing. I'd like to learn calligraphy too. I also like Silver Jewellry Making (I made our wedding rings).
Fave books include: Anne of Green Gables series, Harry Potter series, Little House series, Little Women, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Da Vinci Code, Handle with Care, The Samurai's Daughter, The Kite Runner, Half a Yellow Sun, Hope in a Ballet Shoe and I See You.
Fave authors include: Jodie Picoult, JK Rowling, Dan Brown, LM Montgomery, Clare Macintosh, John Moyes, Charlotte Betts, Phillippa Gregory & James Herbert
Always happy for book suggestions in swaps.
The Great British Sewing Bee, Project Runway, Top Chef, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares USA, Game of Thrones, Bones, Star Trek (all but fave is Voyager followed by Enterprise), The Simpsons, QI, Law & Order: SVU, The Middle, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Damned, Brooklyn 99 and Pointless.
Loads and it depends on my mood but my 'go to' movies include the following: Love Actually, Dirty Dancing 1 & 2, Harry Potter series, Mamma Mia, The Sound of Music, Annie (the original), Most Disney, Top Gun, X-Men movies (all of them), Star Trek movies (all especially the new cast), Grease 1 & 2, Mona Lisa Smile, Coyote Ugly, Labyrinth, Julie & Julia, Bring it on, Letters to Juliet, Pearl Harbour, Armageddon & the Lord of the Rings series.
These days I don't watch many new movies as I usually doing other things while the tv is on so prefer movies I've seen before so don't have to concentrate on. I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema! ***updated - I saw the new Beauty and the Beast movie on 17th March 2017 - it was fantastic.
I like postcards with or without envelopes, but please write a little something on the back, even if it's just a fave quote or local fact etc.
I love touristy postcards or those showing local views, culture, food and drink, attractions etc. Japan and Iceland are always winners but it's more important it's of YOUR country/culture.
I also love postcards of animals (especially baby ones), Anne Geddes prints, books/literary ones, inspirational quotes, brightly coloured/rainbow coloured ones, food & drink, art and culture or famous local people (not celebrities as such unless they are from your local area). Geeky ones are welcome as is sci fi, science and humorous ones. I'm happy to receive homemade/decorated ones too or ones you've coloured in.
Please don't send any with spiders on (I hate them) and I'm not a big fan of skulls, pin up girls, anime or 'rude' ones.
Stationary - especially stickers & washi tape (nothing with spiders or skulls though and I'd prefer not to have reward/teacher stickers or really childish ones. I do love Disney stickers though) - I love Lisa Frank stickers (automatic heart if not animal print or mostly animal print) and Pipsticks sticker packs. Scratch n sniff stickers are fine as are fabric/fuzzy ones and puffy ones.
I do like some kids themed stuff - Miffy, Mr Men/Little Miss, Hello Kitty, My Little Pony and Tatty Teddy (the Little Grey Bear/Me to You) stuff is always a winner (think stickers, washi, postcards, magnets, stationary, notecards etc). Miffy and Mr Men/Little Miss stuff would get an automatic heart!
anything glittery and/or pink, purple, blue or silver. I do like yellow but not gold. Also rainbows & bright colours are great (not loads of neon/fluorescent but some is ok).
pens/pencils especially coloured ones and/or glittery/metallic/scented
I love books so book recommendations and bookmarks are a big plus. These would get automatic hearts if included.
anything which teaches me a little about your culture, language, food, landmarks or customs/traditions - these could be recipie/picture postcards, bookmarks, book recommendations etc.
Ravenclaw (Harry Potter) merchandise - including stickers, patches, button badges, key rings, magnets, postcards etc. My Patronus is a cat! Ravenclaw stuff would get an automatic heart.
Animals - baby ones, but especially cats (wild and house), red pandas, horses, most dogs but especially beagles (not a fan of 'racing' dogs (greyhound, whippet etc) or Rottweilers, Staffies or Dobermans), butterflies, bees and ladybugs/ladybirds.
Snacks - I miss Flipz Chocolate pretzels (only the milk chocolate ones) which I used to love when I lived in the USA (can sometimes get them in the uk but not often).
I love chocolate but Cadbury's dairy milk or whole nut OR Hershey cookies n cream. I love Ferraro Roche’s chocolate and the red Lindt chocolates. I also miss NERDS which you can sometimes get here in the UK. I miss Cheetos too. I love salted or buttered popcorn. .
Socks - I love fun socks though not so keen on animal print ones (as in leopard print etc - I like ones with animals on). I especially love socks with cats, avocados, sushi and Christmas or Halloween themed ones.
Bath Bombs - I love Lush bath bombs especially Honeybee, Avobath, Butterbear and Snow Fairy (Snow Fairy shower gel is also a win).
Toiletry products - I have sensitive skin so don’t use many bath/shower products. I do like ‘Burt Bees’ lip balms and Vaseline lip balms. Hand creams are fine and lovely to receive (no lavender scented ones though!).
I do not drink tea or coffee so please do not send these. I drink hot chocolate but only milk chocolate or nutty ones (no dark chocolate, mint, orange, caramel etc). Swaps that call for hot drinks (tea bags etc) are the only exception - fruit teas are acceptable here, though no cinammon or licorice ones, and nutty hot chocolates are preferred.
I do not like spiders! Please do not send any thing with them on (cartoon-ish ones as stickers or washi tape is fine, especially coming up to Halloween).
Not a big fan of pin-up girls
I have sensitive skin so no skin/beauty products please - except those in my wishlist above.
Nothing flavoured caramel or toffee. I don’t like dark chocolate or fruit flavoured chocolate and mint in chocolate is just wrong!
Nothing scented lavender, rose, cinnamon or coffee - I hate those scents!
Nothing which stinks of cigarette smoke please. I'm very sensitive to the smell and I hate it.

Big HP fan as well, however, I'm a Gryffindor through & through😁
Song lyrics #4 Rihanna same old mistakes Feel like a brand new person, (But you'll make the same old mistakes) Well I don't care I'm in love, (Stop before it's too late I know) Feel like a brand new person, (But you'll make the same old mistakes) I finally know what it's like, (You don't have what it takes) (Stop before it's too late, I know there's too much at stake) (Making the same mistakes) And I still don't know why it's happening. (Stop while it's not too late) And I still don't know
Song Lyrics #4:
James Blunt - Carry you home:
"As strong as you were, tender you go,
I'm watching you breathing for the last time.
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet
I know what it means and I'll carry you home,
I'll carry you home.
If she had wing she would fly away
And another day God will give her some..."
This song always reminds me of 1986 when I lost my bff when I was young. She died because of the result of drinking & driving. Cindy
Song Lyrics #4 Electronic
In your face, I see a lifetime In this place, I feel at ease Wallpaper peeling, paint wearing thin Here's where I end and begin I don't need a roof to say I'm covered I don't need a roof to know I'm home There could be a single shingle dangling overhead I don't need a roof to make my bed
Big Fish (Original Broadway Cast) - I Don't Need a Roof

Have a wonderful day

I was going to have pictures until I realized how much space it was going to take up! So I'm afraid you'll have to imagine your own pictures. ;)
10 THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY in no particular order
Rain: it always lifts my spirits far above the world and I long to dance in it like Gene Kelly in Singin' in the Rain, which is one of my top all-time favourite movies since I was a kid. I was actually happy that it rained a little on me on my wedding day--it felt like a blessing. The scent of rain is intoxicating! And we can include thunder in this, because it makes me happy too. Also the frogs who do a hoarse cry on rainy days.
Sun shining through leaves: I noticed that this made me happy back when I was in middle school, but was much too shy to tell anyone. My name here on Swap-bot, as well as just about all of the internet, Aurelas, means roughly "sunlit leaf" in Quenya (Tolkien's high-Elvish language). When I see a leaf made transparent and glowing by sunlight, I feel joy. I think of it as God's stained glass. Also, just being surrounded by trees or large quantities of natural colour green (ivy, green grass, England, etc).
Snuggling with my daughter: There is nothing sweeter to me than when my 6yo climbs up onto the couch or bed and smushes herself close to me. It brings back memories of the days when she was so small I could hold her entire body on the top part of my chest. Even when she kicks me or pokes me by accident (which happens a lot), the warm fuzzies don't go away. Even better is when she tells me how much she loves snuggling with me. Gosh, I love that girl!
Books: reading has been one of the biggest life-changers I have encountered, with some books changing my perceptions, my beliefs, etc. and others helping me to become a better person or even helping me to keep from killing myself. Books are friends; unread books are friends I haven't made yet. I love the feeling of a book in my hands, especially if it is old or familiar. I enjoy the smell of books--the scent of a room full of books and the scent of each particular book, for many have their own unique perfume. The font choices, the footnotes, the crinkly endpapers protecting lovely illustrations... I could rhapsodize for hours, probably. I am simply book mad! My books fill one whole room and about half of another in our house.
Meeting a kindred spirit: It is so rare for me to find someone who knows about things I am interested in (besides my husband of course) that I often feel very alone in the world. A chance meeting with someone in a Dr. Who t-shirt or a book in their hand, or paints on their fingers, or an anime backpack or something can make my day. I have to talk to them and get their opinion on my favourite things.
Driving: I don't know why it is, exactly, but driving calms me, steadies me, helps me to focus. I love feeling at one with the car and the road and the world outside my home. I someday want a green-energy-powered car so this could be a guilt-free pleasure.
Asian markets: Walking around in an Asian market makes me very happy. There are all of these interesting ingredients and I don't have the slightest idea what to do with them. It always sparks my creativity and reminds me that there is still reason to keep going, because there is so much I haven't learned yet. And there is mochi! YUM :D
Museums: Art museums, regular historical museums, you name it, I love them all. When I was a kid we couldn't usually afford vacations, but my parents were great at finding things that were free that we could go to and usually these were museums. The thrill of not knowing what wonder was around the next corner has never left me. And now museums also remind me of something special--for our first date my husband took me to see the Dead Sea Scrolls in a museum in Mobile, AL. It was the best date ever!
Cats: How could I make it all the way to 9 without getting to cats? Cats have been my fascination and obsession since I was a baby. I love them all and would take them all if I could. A purring cat is a thing of joy, even if it is kneading with its claws out! I love trying to speak to cats in their language and hearing their answers. I play with them as if I were a cat too--when I move the way they do, they treat me as if I were! I would love to be the Jane Gooddall of cats.
Ice hockey: I get so into hockey, especially the Stanley Cup playoffs and Finals. By the finals I'm ready to cheer the winners and cry with the losers. I'm one of those people who do the cheers in their living rooms, hehe. Hockey lets me let loose, and boy, is it ever fun!
Other things I didn't get to list: having a large snake such as a python around my neck, embroidering, thrifting with my husband or mom, the darkest chocolate I can get ahold of, and British accents (all of them).
Song Lyrics #3 from annim
This is Robbie Williams's song "I love my life" and he wrote it to his daughter. I song it to my daughter. <3
I cannot promise there won't be sadness. I wish I could take it from you. But you'll find the courage to face the madness, And sing it because it's true.
I love my life. I am powerful, I am beautiful, I am free. I love my life. I am wonderful, I am magical, I am me. I love my life.
Find the others with hearts like yours. Run far, run free. I'm with you.
Profile Swap: Things that make you happy.
Clouds - be it viewing up from the ground or down from the plane. I would imagine animals and stuff from the shape of the clouds. or even jumping on those huge cotton candy land :)
Stars - when i am upset, I would go down to the garden in front of our dorm and lie down on the (dry) grass, listen to David Choi's music, and gaze at the stars. that calms me down a whole lot.
Travelling/Stayaction - visiting new cities i’ve never been to puts a smile on my face. Even a stayacation makes me happy even though i don’t get to travel anywhere. I guess it is the experience of staying in the hotel that makes it feel like not being in the current city i am in. Staycation = Vacation in the hotel of the city you live in.
Kittens/Puppies - they are just so cute and cuddly.
Avocado Toast - yes, its that specific. Hehehe. Actually i love all kinds of bread, but i am on a hiatus from consuming bread. But avocado toast is what makes me happy, every day, all day.
Reading Novels - they allow me to be in a different world walking in the shoes of different people, experiencing through my imagination through the descriptions of the authors. It gives me time off from the things that i am going through at the moment.
Bicycle shaped trinkets - it makes me happy because it reminds me of my bf whom i love so much.
Food - because i am a foodie.
Tulips/Peonies - these two are my favourite flowers and are hard to come by in Jakarta. So when i do get them, it makes me super duper happy. Even though they wither very fast without reaching their full bloom.
Penpalling – I get to be in contact with people far away from me who i regard as friends although we have not met in person yet. I am happy to have found them and call them my friends.
Song Lyrics #3 Electronic
Johnny Stimson feat. Gisel - End Of Time
All my troubles wash away when I feel you breathing. Everything in its right place. I will gladly give you all my day. Even when the darkness falls around us and our bodies both let go, I just wanna wrap my love around your heart and soul.
I wanna hold you when it all comes down. Wanna be with you when the lights go out. I wanna spend forever by your side. I wanna love you till the end of time.
I'll follow you into forever, you''ll never have to be alone. I'll hold you close and never let you go.
