Hello! I've finally returned to swap-bot after nearly a year away. I'm so excited to start swapping again!
I’ve wanted penpals for ages, and I’m very creative and love sending/receiving packages so I’m hoping this site works out for me! In my childhood I lived between the US and South Africa, so I consider myself to be well cultured as well. Things that make me happy are miniature objects, floral patterns, the colour yellow, and tea!
I put a lot of love and effort into my swaps and sometimes have to work my butt off to get them out on time. I’m understanding however, so if something comes up and you message me I will not hold that against you. I will hold it against you though if you do not message me and if you clearly did not put in any effort into the swap or getting it out on time. Return the effort that others give to you!
I ALWAYS send out my swaps and the idea of flaking is just horrific to me, so if you never receive something that you should, please message me first so I can resend. Please also read the message at the top of my page - if a swap from me is marked a day late that is due to my university’s mail system. Because I work hard on my swaps, I want to make sure that they reach my partners! Philly has an issue with mail thieves and I just don’t trust public post boxes for this reason. I have reason to believe that my university isn’t as consistent with delivering mail to the post office as I would like them to be (seems to be an “every few days” sort of deal). I really hope that you understand. Thanks for reading this far!
I love flower pressing, scrapbooking, and painting. I journal as well (bujo and junk journaling). I am going to school for illustration so all art mediums appeal to me but I LOVE watercolours.
I collect used postage stamps, monster high dolls, postcards, stickers, interesting stones/crystals, and coins! I’m also beginning to collect ephemera!
I’m a HUGE podcast fan! I love podcasts because they are a very immersive form of storytelling, and I can very easily listen to them while I’m working on other projects, such as art. They also help me sleep, which is fantastic as my insomnia used to keep me awake and very anxious at night. My favourite podcasts are: Lore, Alice isn’t Dead, Welcome to Night Vale, King Falls AM, and Crime Junkie. I’m always open to new suggestions as well!
Unique stickers || Pages from old books that I can use for crafting || Tea || Cute/Unique washi tape || Playlists/song recommendations || Buttons || Used seed packets || Pressed leaves and flowers || Fabric scraps || Postcards (Vintage/art postcards are strongly desired) || Anything Sanrio || Things from Japan/Japanese themed || Recipes (Check “Food” Section below please as I do have some preferences) || Vintage paper scraps
Shipwrecks/The deep sea || Non-cartoon whales || Glitter || Childish/teacher stickers
My favourite candies are anything peach flavoured, and I’m not a fan of anything sour. The more variety of texture there is in food the more I’ll like it. As for allergies, I have none, but I can be intolerant to lactose so I avoid milk. My favourite tea is.....anything really! Flavoured, unflavoured, herbal, caffeinated - it’s all great. I grew up in South Africa though, so rooibos has a special place in my heart.
If you are interested in becoming penpals please dm me! I am especially looking for female (trans girls obviously included) penpals between the ages of 18-28. Any country is great!
I love anything Studio Ghibli! I’m also a fan of Winnie the Pooh, all of the characters hold a very strong sentimental value in my heart. I am also a huge fan of Tonko House, a small studio best known for its short film called “The Dam Keeper.” I don’t really watch movies all that often and don’t have interests beyond what I have listed above. However, my favourite movie of all time is Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa).
