Well, sir, I’m just about as average as a person can be: I'm middle-age, live in a small town in the Midwest, I have brown hair, I am the national average height and weight, etc. It is difficult to feel special when a person is “just average. I use my art to show my unique perspective.
I believe that beauty is everywhere: it is in the natural, organic forms found all around us. Those shapes, colors and textures can be harnessed by using design elements to force people to see them for the beautiful things they are. In this way the everyday becomes sacred.
In the spirit of Australian aboriginal art, I am interested in showing the interior and exterior physical anatomy, energy and spirit of the subject through the simultaneous use of realistic and symbolic imagery.
My works vary from pen and ink to metalwork and they have won awards in venues such as Northern Illinois University's Ars Nova Show; Rowland and Lucile Matteson Jewelry Show, IL; Kishwaukee Student Show, IL; Kamelian Arts Magazine, IL; and Art Woman - Appleton Arts Center, WI.
Memberships: Door County Art League, WI; the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG); Founding member of The Makers Art Group.
Currently, I have the best job in the world as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Creative Consultant at a large format printer.
