Intro

Hello! I am Corey. I began trying papercrafts about 4-5 years ago and it's definitely part of my life now! I enjoy mixed media collages and whatever crafts I can pull off with that – mail art, pocket letters, handmade cards, etc. I am not an expert on any particular craft but I try lots! The thing is, I just really love paper. I like the texture of different types of paper, ephemera, and crafts. It’s so nice to get something and it makes a certain sound, or pages feels different from the others. I also write to pen pals and participate in Postcrossing. I have been known to write an occasional short story or poem but lately I prefer to handwrite someone else’s poetry as part of a letter or something. Aside from paper crafts I also cross stitch and make/decorate blankets and table runners with Huck Embroidery aka Swedish Weaving.

My Favorite Things

I consider myself geeky! I love comic books/graphic novels and all other kinds of books. My favorites are usually memoirs, science fiction, or fantasy. I even have a collection of antique books – classics and books on “how women should behave” or women’s health are my favorite to collect.

My favorite color is yellow – the bright, happy, sunny kind of yellow. I also adore pinks, magenta is my favorite but sometimes you need rose pink, other times you need bubblegum pink, you know what I mean!

I like the “boho” theme with its rich colors and organized chaos. I also like eastern religions and art. Especially mosaic art typical of the middle east.

MY favorite animals are elephants, sting rays/manta rays, cats, unicorns, and lions (because I’m a LEO).

I love ephemera, but not always "vintage" or flowery. I like event posters, tickets, book pages, MAPS, torn out comic book or manga pages, poems, trading cards or playing cards, tarot cards, shiny paper (but not glitter please, I have carpet lol).

I love anything sky, space, and cosmos. Clouds, rainbows, sunsets. Planets, stars, galaxies, aliens, NASA, star charts, the moon, etc etc etc. I like science fiction tv shows "space operas" like Firefly (Zoe is my hero) and Battlestar Galactica.

I like board games, I play a little bit of everything. Also my family plays Magic: the Gathering. And video games- my kid has taught me how to play Fortnite.

I grew up in the 90s and love everything 90s! Nintendo, grunge/alternative music, Lisa Frank, mix tapes, Rainbow Brite & Shee-ra and Labyrinth ❤️.

Tea (I do keep them in my cabinet in case someone ever needs tea, but I don't drink it)

I have been swapping through Facebook groups and I just now learned that Swap-Bot exists! I will definitely send everything on time because I won’t sign up for more than I can handle. But I’ve been noticing more mail “missing” lately so if something I sent didn’t get to you PLEASE tell me and I’ll make it right.

Also...I have a scale and a mini ruler and measure/weigh all the flat mail I send. On packages I bring them to the post office to weigh. If for any reason there is POSTAGE DUE on something I sent, please let me know and I will either reimburse you or send you something to make up for it. This happened to me once and I would feel terrible if this happened to one of my partners!
