Art teacher (retired but still teaching in various venues); live in Minnesota; married to Tom for 36 years...we're taking ballroom dance classes! have 2 grown children; owned by a furry black feline; love to make homemade soup and bread; working at living more mindfully.
my ipod has very eclectic taste
Lately..."Little Miss Sunshine"..the best-cast movie I've EVER seen! Loved "Miss Potter".
"Lord of the Rings" trilogy
Oldies - "Wait Until Dark", "The Great Escape"...oh, and I'm a "Sound of Music" addict. Have to see once a year.
Mostly, I'd rather read...and do so voraciously! Right now working my way through Ann Perry's "William Monk" series. Recommend Vince Flynn and Daniel Silva for thought-provoking excitement and Elizabeth Berg for some feel-good time. Also like historical novels and contemporary political reads - Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Newt Gingrich and other smart people.
I'm still mourning the end of "Frasier"..... Currently watching all episodes of BBC America's' "Monarch of the Glen". It's wonderful! And, I think NetFlix is the best idea in a long time.
Well, this whole "craft" thing...hm-m-m-!?! I enjoy a lively debate about that line between something that's cute or pretty and nicely made and something that more accurately fits the definition of "art".
That urge to "make stuff" is precious and wonderful. How to honor it in a truly intellectual and creative way, pushing and stretching oneself, remembering that art is "ideas" more than it is nifty materials and techniques. When is creating an ATC or altered book a "craft" and when is it "art"??!?!
I discovered bookmaking about 15 years ago and teach others how to make and fill their own. My obsessive childhood love of paper dolls has found a new, contemporary outlet. I try to exercise the artful brain cells everyday...for instance, keeping a stack of postcard-sized stock on my desk and putting together a mixed media postcard each night before bed.
To parody that old 70's tune..."I'd like to teach the world to draw.."
I relish a good flea market.
I love the color turquoise!
I write bad but personally satisfying poetry.
I paint old wooden chairs.
Life is good and I'm grateful.

I knew I'd seen your name before..I have a wonderful piece of your doodle from ages ago.
Very ambitous of you to do a postcard every day. I did a few today, but that was just because I played hooky from work..;)
