My name is Katy, I am 21 years old and I live in San Francisco, my favorite place in the world (so far!) I work a day job as a receptionist downtown SF and spend every spare minute I have working on my new embroidery pattern business with my lovely partner Maureen. I love creating, reworking, repurposing. I start crafting as soon as I get off the hook from work and don't stop till my eyes get droopy. I live with my lovely boyfriend Johnny and we are adventurers.

Crafts: I wish I could craft all day every day. Who needs money right? I love hand embroidery the most! The best days are days where I stitch all day and finish a piece in one day. I have recently fallen in love with felt, which you can make anything out of, I don’t know why I never used it! If you hand embroider me something I will love you forever.

Favorite Movies: Fear and loathing in Las Vegas. I love John Cusack (although my brother claims he loves him more.)High Fidelity is my favorite, Better off Dead, Grosse Point Blank, One Crazy Summer and Say Anything. I love Audrey Hepburn, she is so classically beautiful. My favorites are Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina and Roman Holiday. I never watched Shirley Temple as a kid but recently got hooked, how is she so cute?! I am a total sucker for girly movies, no matter how bad. I love When Harry Met Sally, Some like it Hot, The Science of Sleep.

Music: I love me some jazz. Ella Fitzgerald is the queen, she can sing anything and it would sound amazing. I seriously think I own every Ella record. Some more jazz faves are: Duke Ellington, Dinah Washington, Frank Sinatra, Blossom Dearie and Louis Armstrong.
More Jams: David Bowie,The Zombies, The Animals, The Kinks, Lou Reed, Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Electric Flag, Cream. I love to listen to Brazilian music while working; it gets me in the groove. She & Him makes me very happy, I’m sure my boyfriend is way over listening to them by now. Favorite song: Tie between Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix or The Way you look Tonight by Frank Sinatra (very different I know, haha)

Books: Hunter Thompson is the man. I love writers that make you feel like your there with them. I will read anything by Kurt Vonnegut. My favorite book of all time is Norstrilia by Cordwainer Smith. I have never been into reading sci-fi until I read Space Lords, also by Smith. Smith usually writes short stories, but Norstrilia is the first and only novel that he ever wrote, about a boy who buys the planet earth and makes a journey to Earth from Norstrilia. The world that Smith creates is insane.
