I have been a long time swapper with ATCsforAll.com, and am currently a member and swapper on IllustratedATCs.com. I have hosted many swaps, primarily those of Inchies and 4x4" collages. I am looking for a new group of people to swap with, and plan to be an active participant. I have studied with most of the well known collage artists teaching today in various classes and retreats, both in the USA and overseas. I have been making my art for over 22 years. I usually attend at least one group meeting such as ART & SOUL each year. I'm excited to become part of your group.
I am a former Financial Planner and Teacher. Now retired. I presently keep myself busy by buying, designing and Flipping Houses for sale... just like the TV shows. Only I don't lift a hammer. I do carry heavy tile sometimes. I am widowed, have 5 married children and 8 grandchildren scattered among the states. They love doing art with their Nana.
You can view some of my artwork on flickr.com as Shoreart or Shelly Greene.
I started out as a young girl doing needlecraft pillows, and knitting. I eventually moved on to needlepoint. I also crochet. It wasn't until I was 50 that I started actually doing art. My favorite medium is mixed media collage and assemblage. I also make jewelry out of old jewelry, Repurposed to todays styles. I sometimes use some of the old rhinestone brooches to make flowers on stems. I actually made my daughter's Bridal Bouquet. I'll make arrangements that I sell for special gifts under the name Gems on Stems. Finally I make handmade books. My favorite are the minis... under 4".
I usually work with colors of the Southwest..blues and burnt oranges with gold. But I am happy to trade any colors. My collage work tends to be somewhat baroque... or abstract. Two opposite types of styles. Not cutesy at all. No stickers, but I do use my own handmade stamps when creating my painted papers. Lately I have been painting more and I love making Gelli prints to use in my artwork.
I look forward to creating and trading with many of you.
I love making ATCs. My favorite colors are southwest colors, reds, blues yummy warms yellows and oranges. Purple is fantastic. Pink... not so much.
I don't usually like STICKERS, but I have been making many mini albums and decos lately. Nice stickers... not childish are appreciated. I especially appreciate handmade art. I personally slap pieces of handmade and hand painted papers together. I love to make Gelli prints. Sometimes the pieces will have flowers or butterflies, or interesting people or architectural designs. Even collaged landscapes. They will either look very Baroque, or very abstract. I'm not into religious or political statements and would prefer not to receive them. Animals are fine too. I love Zentangles !
Lately I am REALLY into Junk Journals and all the stuff you put into them. I've even started a group for trading. I do use some stickers here, but mostly flowers and such. Mostly nature themes and butterflies. I love making travel journals that I sell.
As for themes, I am pretty open to most things. Favorites are: flowers, butterflies, zentangle like drawings, animals, houses. landscapes pieces using handmade papers I love abstract art so anything in that category would be great!

Thank you for sending along the original Winter Wonderland ATC that had so much trouble getting to me. It is really beautiful. Aloha
I received a bookmark made by you in a swap from someone else and I just wanted to let you know how much I adore it!
Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!
I enjoyed reading your profile. I love watching those flip shows on TV. :) I absolutely love abstract collage and am wondering if you have any advice on where or with whom to take classes. When I see others people's work it always catches my eye, but as a self-trained artist I don't even know where to start; I'm sure there are some hot tips that would help. Thanks so much.
Welcome to Swap-bot!
