I can't believe that today is exactly 1 year since I joined swap-bot and that I have completed 122 swaps. Where did I find the time????? All of that art traveling around the world. Amazing!!! I've spent this past year doing alot of experimenting with new techniques and revisiting my old friends, pen and ink. I've become somewhat obsessed with Zentangling and just as obsessed with black and white. I somehow feel a connection!! In any case, I have found the whole swapping experience to be fulfilling in so many ways. I've done more art this past year than I've done in the past 30 years. This ends my first year update and I think that I'll leave my original posting on here just so that I can look back and remember the beginning of my swap-bot relationship. ..............and in the beginning....... I just heard about swap-bot last week at an in-home ATC group and I couldn't wait to join. I am very new at ATC's, but I have been involved with art for many years. I love the idea of international swaps because I try to imagine the assortment of papers and ephemera that might appear, but mostly because of the connections with other artists around the world. One of my passions is altering paper, either original created paper or altered paper.. My favorite color is purple. I love combining computer images with watercolor and other mediums. I love all forms of art. My favorite art form is hand made art books and that is the craft that I enjoy the most. I have an altered book always open and ready to add more--will it ever be finished? And now I look forward to a new journey-trading ATC's. I promise to never take on more than I can handle. I have a little 6 pound Maltese dog named "BO" whom I love dearly. He's with me 24/7-he's definately a "velcro" dog. He's also a registered Therapy Dog and he's mostly visited at our local hospital. I am without a doubt a dog lover. As a 60's type of person, I'm generally into "PEACE & LOVE". I
I am really into reality TV-love those crab fishermen!! American Idol, Survivor, PBS, Animal Planet, Discovery--you get the picture?
My favorite music is 60's-70's & 80's-I also like new age when I'm creating-I like old time country and sometimes I like soft classical. I guess you can say that I generally like all music, but not too fond of heavy metal and some of the new music with "ugly" messages.
I read every day-no favorite type of books. My favorite books are the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel............. And now, exactly 1 year later I am fully engrossed and engaged in Jean Auel's newest and last book in the Earth's Children series.
Drawing, painting, Zentangling, atc's, etc, etc!
