Ok, so I'm new at swap-bot and am hoping this is where everybody means to complete my profile. I am a vet tech by trade so it goes without saying that I'm into animals. I have several dogs and cats, all of which are rescues. I love nature and outdoors, hiking, gardening, and just about anything that gives me the excuse to find myself staring at the wonder of it all.
I struggle when people ask me for my favorite color-- I always just want to say, "yes" because I really like all colors somewhere-- just depends on the mood and context (and in the case of gifts, the recipient). I am not a fan of monotone in general, but it does have its place and I'm sure as soon as I type this, it'll be my new favorite thing!
I am into making things in general--recycling what I can to see what else comes to life from it. I like travelling, whether physically or just vicariously. I love to meet new people and try new things, especially foods. I am pretty wide open unless it involves meat (I'm a veg-head)...
I am not a fan of TV, prefer printed books to computerized or audio ones, like to hang with my friends but need my time alone, and am, in general, a bit hard to nail down. I like simplicity in general-- although I seem to find a lot of people interpret that to mean I dn't like decorating-- not so! I love to decorate things-- it's just that I tend to use bark, pieces of leftover paper, or old magazine pictures...
I hope that explains a bit about me. I'm sure this will become more apparent as I do it more:)
paper crafts (scrapbooks, cards, making paper), knitting, learning to sew
a little of everything: right now I'm stuck on the Waifs, Chris Pureka, and the old stand-bys of Indigo Girls and Kristen Hall. I also like world percussion, flute, and vocal groups (especially tradional indigenous groups from around the world).
Square Foot Gardening, Sisters of the Earth, Mason Dixon Knitting, and anything by the Dalai Lama (probably explains a lot about me right there!)
I love essential oils, herbs (except Jasmine-- I'm horribly allergic), and seeds of anything I can grow...
I love herbal and black teas (not green)-- in general I like the more plain varieties, love nuts, dried fruits, granola bars. Not a fan of sweets-- will eat dark chocolate (although not with gooey or crunchy things stirred in!). I like honey and regular sugar stuff (artificial sweeteners give me migraines).
I've yet to find anything someone gave me that I couldn't use and love with all my heart. I really like anything but when I get to choose, I prefer things that are local, benefit some one or some cause, or generally help promote good will. Not an enormous fan of knick-knacks.
