A weel afyer I fell, my elderly mom broke her hip. We live 2 hours apart and I had friend on the phone at 9pm trying to get a ride. Most of the swaps that should have gone out in that period ar late and will be go by proirity maile this friday, the 14/UPDATE: I thought I did this earlier this week (13/14) but I fell on my stairs ended up in the hospital with a concussion, I am late on my swaps but every body knows and they went out friday.
I'm into swapping because it is an outlet for my creativity and lets me meet new people. I like any sorts of swaps that are creative without the need to draw too much because I seriously cannot draw at all. I can put stuff together, knit, paint, stamp, but spatial stuff is beyond me. I also love writing, reading, snail mail pen pals, email pals, anything that keeps me connected.
I have a teenager and a preK kid. A ten year gap between my two girls sounds like it would be vastly different, but in reality early teenagers are like toddlers so it's like having two little kids at the same time. It drives me nuts.
Currently I work at home and study, so swapping gets me away from the noise.
I'm super nerdy/geeky, with a super nerdy/geeky husband raising our own army of zombie fighting nerdy geeks.
I love Blue October. But I am very diverse in music, so I also like pitbull, aersosmith, fleetwood mac, connie francis, etc. Alternative and it's safe though.
Blue October is the best though.
Too many to count. I like the So You Want to be a Wizard series by Diane Duane, anything by Tamora Pierce, the In Death Series, and a lot of "real literature". I got my BA in English Lit so I read a LOT. This year I am trying to read 365 books, I'm not sure I will make it unless of course I can count "Biggety Bat!" and "Snatchabook"...
I am not a huge fan of Jane Austen (please don't hate me). It's weird because I read Pride and Prejudice repeatedly as a young girl but eventually I got so over it, if that makes sense. Like growing out of a phase. Kind of like my Jude Deveraux phase and my Viking phase... ok, I still love Sandra Hill's Vikings.
I found however that I love young adult literature. It's amazing what is being written for young adults these days. I wish there was more written from the boy's perspective, like the Cinda Williams Chima fantasies. Or Half a King by Joe Abercrombie.
I read the majority of my books on my Kindle.
High Fidelity (I love the book too) The Dark Knight Trilogy The Chronicles of Riddick movies Die Hard Movies Closer (Natalie Portman, Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Jude Law) Secretary I am all over the place.
Dr Who. (HOW DID I MISS THIS ON MY FIRST GO?) Bones. Castle. The Colbert Report. The Big Bang Theory. Game of Thrones. Criminal Minds.
Knitting Scrapbooking both paper and digital Writing
I will add stuff here as I think of it. One thing I see a lot of is requests for or to exclude things. Strong smells give me migraines. That said, I really like lilac. And pumpkin, so long as the cinnamon isn't overpowering. Also, I am in sore need/desire/whatever of embellishments of any type.
I love my kindle. I like christmas ornaments, tiaras, chocolate, candles (as long as they arent too cimmoney)yarn, anything to do paper art
