I spend a lot of time on your packages, and I like to know that you have received it. If you choose not to rate for some reason, at least let me know that the package arrived. Thanks.
AS OF NOVEMBER 2008: I have had such problems not receiving ratings/acknowledgement of my parcels that I have decided to take a break from swapping for awhile. It's too disappointing to spend effort, time, and money and not even hear if something was received.
I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 little girl kiddos, one who is 6, and one who is 18 months. We have 2 cats, a rabbit, and a fish. It sometimes feels like a mini zoo around here!
I have a lot of hobbies: sewing, painting, jewelry-making, bath products, paper-work, including some scrapbooking and making cards. My husband and I also love cooking and gardening, and we are getting the girls interested in these things too.
I seem to be addicted to fabric--love especially felted pieces, japanese designs, Alexander Henry-type colors in prints; fabrics from Superbuzzy.com are my downfall.
I do a lot of work with my oldest daughter. Lately, we are doing paper crafts, including scrapbooking.
We also do work with gemstone beads, czech glass, caned glass, and sterling wire.
On my own, I paint in oils and pastels.
And I make bath oils, perfumes, glycerin-based soaps, and bath milks.
80s classics, electronic dance, acoustic guitar, bluegrass, some pop (Maroon Five, Coldplay), Reggae, older French stuff (Charles Aznavour), South American music, Bjork, and lots more... Always like to learn new things!
Latest interests: beading! origami, sewing aprons, sewing cloth baby booties, making purses, photography, felting, oil painting small canvases, cooking
I've also recently started scrapbooking with my 6-year-old daughter. She particularly loves anything related to babies--pastel colors, diaper embellishments, etc.
Likes: handmade things, paper items, craft things, fabric!!, books, pens/writing things, notecards, sewing items, wool roving for felting, scrapbook papers, ephemera, buttons, ribbons, beads, books, music, vintage anything, thrifted treasures, perfumes, soaps,...anything chosen with care
also like: bees, gnomes, birds, apples, trees, flowers, monkeys, giraffes, cats, owls, dragonflies, butterflies
favorite colors: blues, pinks, reds, yellows, greens, oranges, tans
I'd love to receive anything handmade, especially something sewn, knitted, crocheted. I love handmade bath products, in any scent.
I also read and write a lot--and love crosswords and logic puzzles (not into Suduko yet, though).
I have very few dislikes, but among them are: goth, porn, nasty sarcasm
I'm new to swapping, but I've found I love it, especially making up nice packages for people.
It takes me a bit of time to decide exactly what I want to send for each swap, and I make things for many of them, so please be patient! I send towards the end of the swap, but I always track the package, so I can tell you when it should arrive. I hope it's worth the wait! I will also rate my partners as soon as I receive something, and if I can, I'll take photos and post on my blog.
I love reading, and I read a lot--upwards of 2 books a week. I love most everything, nonfiction essays and books, poetry, contemporary fiction, mysteries (both cozy and hard-boiled), history, historical novels, biographies and autobiographies, science fiction, books on religion, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. The only thing I don't read a lot of seems to be traditional romance novels, though I have read some--for some reason, these don't catch my attention as much as everything else. My latest favorites: Leif Enger's Peace Like a River, David Benioff's City of Thieves, Julia Child's My Life in France, David McCullough's Truman, and a collection of poetry by Linda Pastan. For more, see my blog. I'd love to do any private swaps of books--we have a huge library, and I love to trade books and/or recommendations.
