I am a multi-media packrat and an avid collector of broken things and artistic techniques.
I'm also a sucker for pulp science fiction, the stuff Heinlein and others like him cranked out once a year to keep their contracts. The enterprising space cadet whose sharp young eyes catch the bad guy? The convenient coincidences, hidden technology and distracted friendship with science? Totally up my alley.
Warm, earthy and olive neutrals, copper tones, and any range of blue or green.
I use paper and fabric more than yarn and embroidery floss. Given the choice between rough and home-made and slick and fancy, I like the home-made more.
I wear gauged earrings, and work with my hands, so necklaces and bracelets only please.
Foreigner, Dio, Blue Oyster Cult, the Police, Cicada Omega, Brotherhood of Broken Hearts, Bow Wow Wow, Queen, Cheap Trick, Scissor Sisters, Metal Mags, Supreme Beings of Leisure
Really, I'm anachronistic about my music taste. I like mid-70's to mid-80's rock (not roll) and metal. But there is an embarrassing little piece of my heart that is madly in love with disco, lounge and new age.
Frankly, anything with science fiction and a healthy dose of shoot-em-up. Puppets and imaginary beings are always cool too. I've no taste, really.
An example being that Judge Dredd and the Escape From NY and LA movies are right up there in my heart with Labyrinth.
How it's Made, Dirty Jobs, Numbers, CSI: Vegas, Nature, Frontline, European Journal, Venture Brothers, Stargate SG:1
If it's informational or loosely science-based, I love it.
Anything involving paper. Also--miniatures.
I do a lot of assemblage, so I love ephemera and found objects, old ticket stubs, broken pieces of china, weird little toys and other things that some might consider junk, but I find beauty in.
