I am a 27 year old Oregonian trapped in South Dakota. I love swaps and have been through quite a few. I have rarely been disappointed.
I have been married for almost three years now, and I am lucky enough that I love him more and more. I have a pet Betta named Seamus T. O'Hooligan.
My time not at work is spent crafting and arting it up. I am never happy with my own art, but I do love to make it and be surrounded by it.
I have lived all over the country and the Oregon Coast is still my most favorite place.
I was an enviromentalist before it was cool, (snicker) and I hated Bush before it was cool too (snort). These are the only things I have really been ahead of the times with.
I collect Holly Hobby lunchboxes from the '60s and '70s, and old cameras.
I am a sucker for all things cute, I'm not gonna lie. This is despite the fact that I prefer everything else in my life older and more, well...old. Not old fashioned, but antique-y, a camel back velvet couch, a Victorian hall tree, an eastlake bed, that's what I would love to surround myself with.
One of the reasons I make almost everything I own is because I like to have nice things but can't necessarily afford it. This way I can use the best materials I can afford (which aren't always the best, I'll admit) and have exactly what I want.
I tend to be a perfectionist, but I demand it only of myself. Everyone else, well, we're all only human aren't we? If only I could apply that to myself.
EBM, Electronic, Classic Rock, Punk. I like pretty much everything. Country isn't my thing; it depresses me, but I have nothing against it.
My Neighbor Totoro, Hot Fuzz, Amelie, Harold and Maude, The Magic Christian, The Goonies
Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Seinfeld, The Venture Brothers
Knitting, Bookbinding, Beading, Photography, Sewing, I'm just now getting into crochet.
I love all color, a lot, especially the Swedish-y blues and ambers and reds. I wear mostly earth tones, but I often wish I were wearing something brighter. I have color everywhere and am always on to a new favorite. Currently that is orange and yellow.
I love all food. I have a wheat intolerance, which limits what I can eat. Before that my favorite food was toast with a little bit of butter. I admit, I miss it, but I feel so much better so I got over it.
I love rice noodles. I have at least 4 packets in my pantry since I can only get them when I go to one of the cities. I use them like regular pasta, but I also use them as intended.
I had to start eating meat after 14 years because of some serious health issues, but I still don't eat very much meat. I like my meat as far removed from the animal as possible because I haven't gotten past the idea of how horribly this creature died so that I might be healthy.
I love chocolate and my absolute favorite is Green and Blacks milk chocolate. But I love all types of food. We have a very small kitchen, but I still make some great food in it, as elaborate as I want to make it. Simple is best, but sometimes I will bake my own wheat free bread from scratch or something that takes a lot of space.
I am very proud of my Italian heritage and was raised with Italian food being comfort food. I am interested in learning about Puerto Rican foods and how to make them, as well as northern European foods. I seriously heart ethnic foods of all kinds and am madly in love with Pad Thai(mild) and Tikka Masala(oh yum). As a bit of a Deutschophile(?) I also love to try traditional German foods.
Anyway, yum to all foods, the less processing the better.
