My name is Jessica Daisy Meadows, and live in a village in Essex, England, with my husband Danny, our 3 year-old daughter called Ella, and a dog called Lily.

Before I had Ella I used to have a stall in Camden Lock Market in London, selling hand-made greetings cards. After taking time off work to look after Ella, I started to get a bit bored, so in June 2006 I took up the offer of working for my sister-in-law who had just started her business in Spring 2006 making made-to-measure curtains and blinds, who I still work for now - visit our ebay shop - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ZIA-KOKO.

Hobbies: sewing, re-decorating, painting things, shopping for nice things, making things cosy, baking, cooking, music and gardening.

Things That Make Me Smile: picnics, beach Huts, my Comfort Box (also known as a Roberts Revival Radio) tuned to Radio 4, my fabric stacked neatly in piles, bunting, pom-pom trim, anything coloured blue, Ella's drawings, camps, wrapping presents, a tin of buttons, being curled up with eiderdowns on the sofa watching antiques roadshow on a sunday evening, pretty vintage finds, blue and white china.

Favourite Flowers: peonies, sweetpeas, cabbage roses, lavender, pale pink foxgloves, tulips, white lilys, vivid blue delphiniums.

Comfort Food (and drink!): risotto, pasta, olives, feta, roasted butternut squash, white or rose wine (with or without bubbles - I'm not fussy!) elderflower presse, tea, cinnamon sugar, my grandmother's rasberry jam, fresh bread.

Favourite Books: Apricots on the Nile: A Memoir with Recipes by Colette Rossant, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, Apples for Jam (Recipes for Life) by Tessa Kiros, Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet Ahlberg and Allan Ahlberg, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin.

Favourite Films: City Of God - Alexandre Rodrigues, Kandahar - Mohsen Makhmalbaf, The Pianist - Roman Polanski, Marie Antoinette - Sofia Copolla, Monsoon Wedding, Memento, and The Notebook.
