WAHM married lady with one kid and another on the way. I think I'm boring, but I do wear a lot of different hats -- Orthodox Jew, oil industry analyst, avid reader, crocheter, writer, volunteer ...
I love to crochet. I've been doing it since I was 9, when my late grandmother showed me the ropes. I've noodled around with all kinds of patterns, but my favorite thing is to make up my own patterns as I go along. I make hats, blankets, baby clothes, diaper covers ... whatever strikes my fancy, I guess. I have a moderate stash of cheap acrylic yarns and wouldn't mind swapping some of those!
As for what I like ... well, blankets are always good, as are dish towels, pot holders and other useful-around-the-house items. But really, I'm game for anything. I enjoy just checking out other people's creations. It's fun to assess techniques when I know how much work goes into creating something by hand. And freeform crochet ... ah, what fun. It's something I hope to try when I have the time, but in the meantime I just marvel (and drool) over the freeform pieces I see.
