Response: Dear Sam, You totally did work with me. I'm sorry I hadn't gotten them to you sooner. Both cards have been mailed (together) and are on their way to you. Please let me know that you receive them, I imagine it should be any day now. So so sorry for the delay. You were so kind to be so understanding!!!
5/23/10 - GLAD YOU FINALLY GOT THEM. I couldn't believe the post office SENT THEM TO ME instead of you. I was flabbergasted! Bad timing I felt! Anyway...I definitely think I'll be jumping back into the swaps shortly. Still recovering from thesis and took this week off to just RELAX! I figured I'd jump back in where ever the swaps are now, then I'd either make up missed ones for myself or look for future swaps that might have the pieces I'm missing! I love my decks so far!
Response: Glad you finally got it! It seems that a couple others still haven't received theirs yet from the mail out last week - hopefully that will change soon and my rating will go positive again so I can get back into swapping. THESIS IS FINALLY DONE THANK GOD! I can breathe again which is incredible. And my artistic flow is starting to come back.
Really glad you liked the owl! It was my first attempt and I was scared I'd make it look weird!!! Thought the little guy came out alright though! THANKS FOR THE RATING!
Response: Thanks for the comment and rating. Too kind, better things to come!!! Thank you and cheers!
Response: Hey Arty, sorry for the delayed response! The drawing was done with black india ink and a refillable pen onto the paper. Then I used a chartpak marker to fill in the surrounding area for the color! The back is signed with a paint pen. It can smudge easily if you don't give it a moment to dry, but once it dries it's solid!
Response: Sam! Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked this one. While flipping through my old sketch books I came across little drawings like that I had done and thought BINGO! And you are right, there IS usually a reason why I choose the words that I do...sometimes it's transparent, but usually not. I'm so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed making this one for you!
Response: Hi Barbara, Thanks for the message and rating! I cannot WAIT to be done with grad school so that I'll only have ONE full time gig (the job) instead of two so I can devote more time on these. Come May - you'll have better cards to look forward to! Cheers!
Response: Thanks for the kind words Sam! :) Experimenting has been fun. Some really successful, some less son, but a great learning process!
Response: That is soooo nice of you to say! Thank you! I'm really glad you like it, especially since you had a to wait!! As for the background, I scratched up the surface a little bit with an exacto knife and then I used water thinned acrylic paint. That's it! Also, glad you liked the origami crane. :) Message me if I wasn't clear enough about the background or am not answering the right question! Cheers!
Response: Oh yay! I'm glad she's your favorite, what happy happenstance!
The paper clips are from Cavallini (one of my favorite companies - based in Italy). They have AMAZING stuff!!! Their decorative papers are to die for!
Response: OH NO!!!! Two are missing?! Did the envelope get torn on its trip down to you? SO SORRY! Shoot me a message on which ones you have and I'll try to recreate the missing two and send them your way! Sorry two went MIA, but I'm glad the rest got to you safely! Cheers!
Response: Thank you so much! I feel like by the end of the year, each of us will know each other well through our little APC's since there seem to be a pretty consistent group of 10 or so of us! I really appreciate the comment too, thank you!!
Response: Thanks for responding again. :) Hope you enjoy it - can't wait to see all the fun cards we each end up collecting!
Response: Ha ha, the girls on the back ARE pretty fun, lol, I ended up getting both Cutty Sark deck of cards from my boyfriend! But happy to hear you enjoyed the front. Cheers!
Response: My sister found the slides for me actually, someone was just throwing them away and she said, "my sister will want these" and took them out of the trash for me! She's the best!!! I got a couple small boxes of them and LOVE them! So glad you liked the card...thanks for (re)organizing this swap! It has been so much fun!!!
Response: Thank you for the response. I hope it adds something of a different flavor to your collection of ATC's. :)
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you so much for the kind words, I really had fun experimenting with what and how I wanted to do these, so your positive feedback is really appreciated! Look forward to future swaps with you as well! So excited to get a couple full by years end!
