Description: | |
In the beginning of the book Sophie's World, the main character, Sophie, receives mysterious mail posing philosophical questions (this leads to a course in Western philosophy woven through an increasingly bizarre story). So here's a swap to give us all some things to ponder. We'll send a postcard posing a philosophical question (a question that may have many different answers, or may be completely unanswerable) to each of our partners. It may be a purchased postcard or one you made. You may put the question on the picture side if you like, and share some of your thoughts on the message side (you'll have to be brief, though -- it is a postcard!), or just put the question alone on the message side. Be sure to put "Swap-bot: Question" and your Swap-bot ID somewhere on the card to make it easier for your partner to connect the postcard with this swap. We'll have seven partners, because seven strikes me as a good philosophical number (and to ensure we all get a few postcards at least, in case there are a few who become overwhelmed when pondering the nature of the universe and forget to actually send any postcards out), and a long stretch from signup to send so that we might all get our questions trickling in over a period of weeks, allowing time to ponder them (which is no guarantee you won't get all yours on the same day). PARTICIPANTS: This is international, newbies welcome, and I won't set an arbitrary rating minimum. Instead, I will look at profiles and if I have questions (of the mundane variety), I'll e-mail you. I may drop people who don't respond to my e-mails in a few days or whose answers to my concerns are unsatisfactory (but I will explain why I drop someone). |
