I'm a librarian. I like reading, knitting, comics, cooking, monsters, strong coffees, fine beers and visiting large cities.
I spent my childhood living in Tempe, AZ; my teen years and the first part of college living in and around Minneapolis, MN; and most of my twenties in Tucson, AZ. A little over a year ago my fiance and I moved to WA... we're still getting used to it.
I am currently reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski as well as assorted comic books.
I like Harry Potter, Italo Calvino, Neil Gaiman, magical realism and graphic novels. I read a lot of young adult novels for my job.
In general I like old jazz, overwraught gothy stuff, 80's pop, trip-hop, some 90's 'alternative,' and I'm very open to college-rock, international music, and anything with good smart lyrics.
My top 6 are: Amelie. Donnie Darko. Party Girl. Little Miss Sunshine. The Life Aquatic. Nightmare Before Christmas.
I don't watch much television, but I do like the Food Network, particularly Good Eats with Alton Brown. I also like watching old episodes of The French Chef (with Julia Child).
I'm a knitter and I'm on Ravelry as 9hauntedgirls - look me up.
I knit socks (although I wouldn't necessarily call myself a Sock Knitter), scarves, hats, wristies, lace, and I just finished my first sweater. Like most knitters, I prefer natural fibers.
I'm also a novice beer brewer.
I like autumn colors: hot or warm reds and oranges, a smattering of yellow, and deep nutty browns. I also like greens and blues, in either jewel tones or stormy, deep-sea shades. I'm also a big fan of black and pink, and you can never go wrong with gray.
Purple. Navy blue. Army green.
My favorite season is fall and my favorite holidays are Halloween and Dia de los Muertos. I also collect rare (as in first edition, early edition, signed, etc.) Edward Gorey books... So obviously I like skeletons, bats, sugar skulls, shrines/altars, anything "dark" or "creepy" or creepy-cute, etc.
I'm a little obsessed with cephalopods (octopus, squids and the like) and the Cthulhu mythos. I once made up a Voodoo god named Papa Mimbo, advocate of housecats and strays. I like devils, demons, and stories where people try to outwit them.
I appreciate the punk aesthetic.
I'd enjoy recieving nice lip balms or glosses. I have a fondness for sharpies, pens and little notebooks. I also like asian teas, but nothing floral or sweetened, please. I love spicy foods and trying new kinds of hot sauce.
If I were a superhero my super-weakness would be my sense of smell: I love citrus, pumpkin, and vanilla, but am critically weakened by the smells of cat pee, unwashed clothing, and plumeria. Go figure.
Nice, good-smelling candles are always appreciated as are (and I know this is a stretch) Imp's Ears from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. Order a sample you just didn't like? Send it to me and I will give you hearts and light candles in your name. And possibly name my first-born after you. Even if it's a boy.

Hey Ang, I hope that you're doing good...I love you xoxoxox
If you want to swap Anti-Valentines CDs after Valentines Day, let me know. I'm sure we can sort out something! :)
Thank you so much for being my angel for the fall fat book swap. My biggest fear when I mailed my book out was that my partner would flake. I had never put so much work into a swap before! Your book is beautiful and I look forward to showing it off at my next crop party!
Thanks for doing the swap with me. Your package came at the perfect time, I was in the middle of a huge tedious project. The CDs got me through.
I grew up in WA state - I hope you don't have that Aberdeen/Olympia drive to do too often!
Welcome to the Glorious autism Chunky book swap!!
