I love all types of art. I particularly like textile art and spend a lot of time sewing. I also like mixed media and get a great kick out of making ATC's and have recently just created my first journal, well the first page in my first journal... lol I am happy with it though it has been quite a freeing experience. I live in a small seaside town in Southern Ireland. I like to walk and swim, and I am learning to Salsa dance..
I don't have any allergies as far as I am aware. I am really looking forward to getting involved with the various swaps being offered on this site as it is a great way to exchange art and ideas as well as meet new like minded friends.
Happy crafting.
My Taste in Music
I like Rock Music of all types, (Rush, White Snake, Avenged Sevenfold, Breed 77 etc. I also like Opera depending on my mood and what I am doing, and if need to concentrate when I working on a project any type of easy listening music or modern pop music.
Books
I love Chrisitne Feehans Books, Sherrilyn Kenyons and also books by JD Robb (AKA Nora Roberts). I love science fiction and the paranormal romance... I know I am a bit of a saddo lol. I also enjoy the Anne McAffrey books The Dragon Master Series. I love to read all types of different books, and belong to a small book club, where we all get to choose a different book to read and critique, but if I want to get lost in a good story those listed at the beginning of the paragraph are my first choice. I also love reading up on any type of textile art, sewing and mixed media books, as my heaving bookshelves will agree.
I have joined this site on the recommendation of a friend, who swears it is the best thing since sliced pan, (bread) to make new friends all over the world and to have the pleasure of taking part in all different types of swaps and eventually to be able to host my own. (once I ever get familiar with the naviagation of this site lol. I have the technical ability of an Amoeba lol).
My favourite colours are all shades of Blue, Green and Purples, probably living by the sea my whole life has coloured my view on those. It is not that I dislike other colours it is just that I am drawn to those colours.
I love jewellery of all sorts, whether it is costume or real, and the more original the better. I like unusal hand made items, that is not to say I don't appreciate store bought items but I just like to have something that you are not going to see everyone else wearing.
I have a passion for shoes and bags, and have way too many of both, but you just never know when you are going to need pale pink Doctor Martins or stone clad metalic brown stilettos.... Ironically I have quite a few pairs that I have never worn but love to look at... I wonder why.
I love to hang out with my friends over a nice meal and a bottle of wine, I am an appalling cook, but luckily for me they aren't Hee Hee so i bring the wine and they supply the food. When it is my turn it is usually take out... It is safer. Having said that you wouldn't belive the amount of lovely recipe books I have, probably kind souls thinking to educate me and try and improve on my non existant skills.
Wow after all this chat I am exhausted and if you have read through till the end so must you be, so I will say cheerio for now and when I figure out how I will maybe add some pictures...
Wish List.
I noticed that a lot of members have put down a wish list. So I thought I would do the same.
I love unusal beads or bead of any type for that matter. ( I find it hard to obtain large beads here, so if anyone has any that they would like to find a new home for guess who has room ? lol....:)
I love fabric, ribbons and embroidery threads as well as unusal yarns, so any of those items would always be welcome.
Any crafty items for card making or journal making would also be gratefully received, as would book-binding notions.
Fun socks are always welcome I have loads of socks I take an english size 6 and a european size 39 I am not sure what that is in the USA.
The other thing I really love is scented floral soaps or handmade soaps. I think they are a real treat and make one feel really pampered.

I am going back and tracking the origins and destinations of my swaps. WE did a moon ATC swap back in '10. If you don't mind, could you share your city/state? Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for the notecard for the WTA in the notecard to go group. It was much appreciated.

Hi Helen!
Thank you so much for the 2 notecards you sent me for the NTG September WTA - they're both really cute!
Also, thanks for the postcards you sent for Louis-Justin! I'm sure he'll be thrilled when he sees them. You're so thoughtful! :)
Oh and thank you for the offer, but I'm unfortunately unable to start writing to new penpals at the moment... I'm already behind on my mail, so it wouldn't be fair to my current pals! I hope you understand...
I also hope you're enjoying your vacation in South Africa! Have fun with your sister! And thanks again for the wonderful package.

Ireland??!! Lucky you!! I have always wanted to visit...maybe someday I will and we can have dinner (I'm a horrible cook, as well, though, so maybe just the wine part?) together. Although I will probably be 60 by the time I am able. Haha! I also love shoes and handbags. A church close to my house is having a "Gently Used Handbag" sale this weekend and I am going to have to keep myself away (or at least not let my husband know if I do go...lol). I am definitely going to check out some of your book selections! I love to read!
It's been nice "getting to know you." I hope you enjoy swap-bot!

Hello there! How are you? I hope this comment finds you well all the way across the other side of the world! You and I have a lot in common. We both love to sew!!! I too love fabric, ribbons and embroidery threads. Do you hand embroider? I do! And I love it! I do it EVERY day! I find it to be so relaxing! I love this site and it is totally addicting! I agree with your friend. It is the best!!! I hope that you enjoy your stay here and hopefully we will be able to swap with each other some time!!! carla louise www.ohsewaddicted.com Read and Comment on your partner's profile !
Hi!
It's nice to read a profile from someone who likes Sherrilyn Kenyon/paranormal romance. I harbor a little bit of an addiction myself. I highly reccommend Kresley Cole's books if you haven't given her a try. There's also an anthology called the Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance out. There's also a Mammoth Book of Time Travel Romance, Vampire Romance, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Werewolf romance out there as well. If you ever have time, give them a look. It's a few hours of pleasent reading.
I too enjoy sewing, but I'm not that great at it. Swear words tend to turn the air blue as I'm doing it. I confess that while I don't have shoes that I just like to look at, I have been known to buy yards of fabric...and never use them. They're too beautiful.
I find bags hard to resist. I used to make totes all the time, but sadly haven't had the fabric resources since I moved to the other side of the pond.
I wish you lots of joy and luck in your Salsa dancing!
