I live in a house in upstate New York with my husband, our daughter, a friend and our cats. I'm a major bookworm and craft geek.
I'm a little bit involved in The Society for Creative Anachronism and also regularly go to several different science fiction conventions here in the Northeast.
When I'm home I'm usually taking care of my little girl, or watching TV and being crafty. I squeeze other crafts in when I can, but knitting is my current favorite (mostly because it's the most interruptible.)
Any questions? Feel free to ask!
I love folk music, the blues, and classic rock, but I'll listen to anything that actually sounds like music. Most modern Jazz and modern Classical are out.
Some of my favorite performers are (in no particular order): Bonnie Raitt; The Beatles; The Mamas and the Papas; Stevie Ray Vaughn; Eric Clapton; Pete Seeger; Arlo Guthrie; Peter, Paul & Mary; Janis Joplin; Simon and Garfunkel; The Weavers; B.B. King; Johnny Cash; The Byrds; Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (or any of the members together or separately.); CPR; Fleetwood Mac
I do several different crafts, with the current major one being knitting.
I really want to learn how to weave, and I sort of want to learn crochet, tatting, quilting, bobbin lace making, and soap making.
I used to do candle making, jewelry making, latch-hook, plastic canvas, decoupage, embroidery, and a few other random crafts. Some of these I haven't lost my interest in completely, and could get around to doing again someday.
I'm a major bookworm. I read anything that holds still long enough. My favorite genres are Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mysteries, and classic literature.
Some of my favorite authors are (in no particular order): Jane Austen, Robert Heinlein, Elizabeth Bear, Emma Bull, Louisa May Alcott, Jacqueline Cary, Stephen Lawhead, Peter S. Beagle, Connie Willis, Kage Baker, Mercedes Lackey, Eric Flint, Neal Gaiman, Stephen King, L.M. Montgomery, Naomi Novak, David Eddings, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Noel Streatfield, Sharyn McCrumb, and John D. MacDonald.
(Note: I'm not 100% sure that I spelled every name on this list correctly.)
I love almost every shade of the color blue, and most shades of pink and purple. I'm more picky about green, and I don't care for orange or most shades of yellow. I like gray better than black, and black better than white. I'll use brown stuff, but I never pick it out for myself.
I love silver and don't like gold, except for white gold. My favorite gemstones are opals, and I also love all the other iridescent precious and semi-precious stones. I also like stones in my favorite colors from above.
My personal style, for both my own appearance and my home decorating, can be summed up in the phrase "simple, but not boring." I like Celtic, Art Nouveau, Mission furniture, and some traditional Japanese stuff.
I love mint, cherry, strawberry, and peanut butter flavored foods (not all together though) and consider their existence to be pretty good arguments in favor of God's existence. The fact that they all combine well with chocolate is proof that God does exist, and that she loves us and wants us to be happy.
I drink disgusting quantities of Coca-Cola, and lesser (but still large) amounts of mint tea, cherry Kool-aid, and lemonade.
I love Mexican, Chinese, Indian, and Sushi.
I love cats (especially black, white, and gray ones), and owls (especially white ones). I like butterflies, dragonflies, hummingbirds, wrens, rabbits, deer, and ladybugs.
I love roses, violets, cherry and apple blossoms, and lilies of the valley. I like lilacs, dandelions, tulips, and most other flowers.
I'm phobic about spiders, do not like wasps/hornets/yellow jackets, and get sick at the very smell of bananas.

Hi Jenny, I'm your partner for the apple ATC which I will be sending out tomorrow. Was just checking out your profile. Based on your food 'likes' I have to ask. Have you tried the strawberry jelly/peanut butter M & M's? You must! Also, I'm in a group called Cup and Chaucer. It's for book lovers. You should check it out!
